In Pokemon Sword & Shield, you can send your Pokemon on Poke Jobs by accessing any Rotomi PC in any Pokemon Center. Poke Jobs are basically the successor to the Poke Pelago found in the the Alola Region, allow you to send your Pokemon off in order to obtain Reward Items or to improve their Effort Values. Each Poke Job has certain restrictions, with some requiring a certain amount of Pokemon and others requesting a certain type of Pokemon be sent to complete the Poke Job. When you send a Pokemon to do a Poke Job, you will also be able to sent a time limit on how long the Pokemon will be off doing it.
The first type of Poke Jobs are based on experience. These have a specific star rating and contain a limit to the amount of Pokemon you can send (from 4-30 Pokemon). The better the Star Rating for a Poke Job, the better the rewards that will received. Additionally, some Poke Jobs ask for a specific Pokemon Type. By sending a Pokemon with the same type that is requested, you will earn more rewards. These types of Poke Jobs change daily, and you will receive new Poke Jobs the further you progress in the game.
The second type of Poke Job is available at all times, and it focuses on raising the Effort Values of the Pokemon you send to do the Poke Job. There is a specific Effort Values Poke Jobs for each Base Stat Category, including Hit Points, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. For placing your Pokemon in one of these types of Poke Jobs for an entire day, it will receive exactly 96 Effort Values for the corresponding Base Stat.
