During an interview, one of the creators of Pokemon Sword & Shield shared a number of things about the games. One of these subjects was that Z-Moves would not exist within Pokemon Sword & Shield. Z-Moves were first introduce back in the Alola Region, having been seen in Pokemon Sun & Moon and later in Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Even though this may be disappointing to some, the newest concept of Dynamax also brings along Max Moves. In the most simplest of senses, Max Moves have officially replaced Z-Moves for The Galar Region.
