How To Access PC Boxes?

Thank you for printing this page from to come back to check for updates to this guide and much more content for Pokemon Sword and Shield
Last Updated:

Before Pokemon Sword & Shield, players would have to travel to a nearby Pokemon Center to switch out their Pokemon in the PC Boxes. Though players can still do this within these games, that is no longer a necessity. Instead, players now have the access to their PC Boxes in almost every location within The Galar Region. To access the PC Boxes when in an area where it is permitted, all a player will now have to do is go into their Pokemon Party and then click the R Button on their Nintendo Switch Controller. Instantly, players will have access to the PC Boxes where they can deposit, withdraw and switch out their Pokemon!

This new feature makes it so much easier to rotate your Pokemon Teams since you don't have to go to a town with a Pokemon Center in order to do so. You can literally swap Pokemon at the drop of dime, something invaluable if you want to Speed through the game or if you are looking participate in many Max Raid Battles. You can even move around the items your Pokemon are holding, both ones in your Party and in your PC Boxes, allowing you to have even more control of the assets you have gained during your journey.
