Like all Mainstream Pokemon Games, Pokemon Sword & Shield have Pokemon that are exclusive to each version. This means that certain Pokemon can only be found in Pokemon Sword and not Pokemon Shield, and vice versa. In order obtain Pokemon that are exclusive to the opposite version of the game, you must trade for those given Pokemon. That, or transfer them (should they be a Legacy Pokemon) from a previous Pokemon Game through Pokemon HOME.
