Corners is one of several scoring setups that Monopoly Go rotates through for its solo banner events — the big milestone events that sit at the top of your game board and typically run for two or three days at a time. Each scoring type has its own set of tiles that count for points, and this one is the simplest of them all: you score by landing on any of the four corner tiles. Go, Jail, Free Parking and Go to Jail. That's it. Once you know how to play one Corners event, you know how to play all of them.

Every corner tile on the board scores 4 points when you land on it, multiplied by whichever dice multiplier you used for that throw. That's the whole scoring system. There are no bonus tiles, no tax tiles worth more, no chance tiles doing double duty. Four corners, four points each, times your multiplier.

But not all corners are equal. When the Lucky Coin event is running, the Jail / Just Visiting corner also gives you a chance to spin the lucky coin for more event points, the Jail corner tile gives you a chance to win back free rolls, and the Free Parking corner tile can give you a chance to win either cash, dice or special event tokens when the corresponsing Free Parking or Jackpot Stash boost events are running, see our Boost events guide for more details.
Here's the thing that makes this event type stand out. On most scoring setups — tax tiles, pickup tiles, chance and community chest — the scoring tiles are clustered together in specific sections of the board. That means you can plan your approach, hold back your multiplier until you are close to a cluster, and then go big. Corners does not work like that. The four scoring tiles are as spread out as they could possibly be, one at each corner, exactly ten squares apart.
What that means in practice is that there's no "hot zone" to aim for, because every stretch of the board has a corner somewhere within ten squares. You are almost always within striking distance of a scoring tile, but you are also almost never guaranteed to hit one. It flattens out the strategy in a way that the other event types don't. Pick a multiplier you're comfortable rolling at, and then basically stick with it.
Apart from scoring on the corners, you'll probably also land on railroad tiles at a similar frequency too which will help in your tournament progress as well.
For this event type specifically, I do think auto roll is a reasonable option. That is not something I would say for pickup events or chance, tax and utility events, but Corners is different. Because the scoring tiles are evenly spread, you're not really gaining much by manually picking your moments. Whatever multiplier you're comfortable with, set it and let it run for a stretch.
That said, there are still a couple of moments worth paying attention to:
There is always a tournament running alongside a Corners event, and that tournament scores on railroads. Railroads sit at the midway point of each side of the board, ten squares apart from each other. So the four corners and the four railroads together make eight scoring tiles evenly distributed around the board — one every five squares on average. That's actually a pretty high scoring density when you count both events together, which is part of why Corners events tend to feel fairly smooth to play.
If there's a partner event or a racer event running at the same time, you may also see partner tokens or flags appearing as extra items on the board, which gives you more to aim for alongside the corners. Tiles with shields on them also return dice back to you as well when yor shields are full.
Dig events work differently. There are no pickaxes physically on the board to land on — instead, the pickaxes (or laser guns, wands, whatever the current dig event uses) sit inside the milestone rewards of both the banner event and the tournament. So every point you score in the Corners event is dragging you towards a dig event reward, even though the dig event itself isn't represented on the board you're rolling on.

Yes, actually. This is the one scoring type where auto roll makes sense. Because the corners are evenly distributed around the board, you are not losing much by letting it run on a fixed multiplier. For pickup or tax events I would tell you to turn auto roll off, but for Corners it is a reasonable choice.
This can be particularly frustrating event if you keep moving around the board without land on corners, it's sometimes more of a slog than other events where you can pick and choose moments to use a higher multiplier based on a section of the board which may have better scoring opportunities.
Every Corners event on Monopoly Go plays roughly the same way. Pick a multiplier you're comfortable with, keep rolling, and don't burn all your dice chasing one big hit.
