Tundra Treasures and How to get pickaxes

Tundra Treasures on Monopoly Go brings you 20 levels of digging fun where you can win over thousands of dice to be won along with a swap pack, new board token and shield. Here is everything that you need to know about this event that starts at 8 AM ET on January 31st, 2025 and runs until 3 PM ET on February 4th.

Remember that to play this event you'll need pickaxes, you can get them from any of the events that start at the same time or after this event. A full lise of events on Monopoly Go and links to their rewards and milestones lists can be found on our daily events schedule.

You can get more pickaxes from any of the events currently running on Monopoly Go which include the banner event, Fortune Expedition, which runs until 10 AM ET on February 2nd, and the next banner event that starts right after, Whale Wonders.

Also from the tournament, Iceberg Hop.

When this event ends, Juggle Jam, Knightly Quest and Craft Clash will all start.

All Tundra Treasures milestones and rewards

Tundra Treasures has 20 levels for you to dig through, each one will give you different rewards which are listed below. Look out for the levels with the special items:

• Level 10 - Narwhal shield skin
• Level 16 - Blue Sticker Pack
• Level 17 - Walrus board token
• Level 20 - 2,500 free dice rolls and Swap Pack

How to get more pickaxes for Tundra Treasures

To play dig events, and work your way through the 20 milestones this one has to offer you'll need a load of pickaxes, here is how you can get them for free in the game.

• Banner Events and Tournaments - Look out for these events that start at the same time or after this dig event starts. Banner events and tournaments are where you'll get the majority of free pickaxes for any dig event, it's best to check the milestones lists for each of these which can be found by heading over to our daily events schedule and clicking the link to any of the events.
• Quick Wins - While the dig event is running, you can get some more pickaxes every day from Quick Wins, there are not so many to be won via this method, but being consistent and grabbing all of the free pickaxes from Quick Wins every day does add up to a decent stack and could mean the difference between completing the event or not.
• Eight Hourly Free Shop Gift - Remember to collect your free shop gift every eight hours. While the dig event is running, the gift pack will also include some free pickaxes.
• Free pickaxe links - From time to time these pop up, and if any do, we'll add them to our free dice links page.

Use these pickaxes to dig for treasure in the event, uncover everything in a level to win the reward and move onto the next one.

How to win the Walrus board token and Narwhal shield skin

To win these two special items, you just have to complete the corresponding level from the table above where you can find those rewards located. So for example, complete level 10 to get the Narwhal shield skin, and complete level 17 to get the Walrus board token.

While these special items don't give you any special benefits in the game, they will help you to complete your shelves, and in turn get you more free rewards.

How many Pickaxes will I need to Finish Tundra Treasures?

Although the number you need will depend on your luck or skill at uncovering the treasures, based on previous experience my estimation is that you'll need something like 350-400 pickaxes to have a shot at completing all 20 levels in Tundra Treasures. There are many ways to get these over the four and a bit days of the event which we listed at the start of this article.

As a general rule of thumb, if you want to get enough pickaxes you'll generally need to go anywhere from between half way to two thirds of the way through all of the events and tournaments that run at the same time as this dig event.

Are there any Tundra Treasures pickaxe links?

If we spot any however, you'll be able to find them on our free dice links page, which is a page we update every day with the latest free dice links to get you some extra free rolls in the game. These links are distributed by Scopely, and all are tested by us before we publish them on our website to make sure that they work and are legitimate links.

Tundra Treasures event tips and strategy

We've been playing all of the similar digging events in Monopoly such as Moonlight Treasures and Galactic Treasures, so have had the time to work out the best ways to give you the best chance to complete this event, here's what we've got.

• Check the milestone lists of events and tournaments

  It's really important to check the milestones list of the solo milestone event and tournament that is running at the same time as Tundra Treasures, you can do this by heading to our daily events schedule to get a link to the current events to view their rewards and milestones list. This allows you to work out how far you should go in each of the events before it starts to get too difficult for you to get pickaxes. Having a plan by looking at these rewards lists can be really helpful. Remember to check the start and end dates for these events because usually you can have two or three tournaments which last for one day each, and only one solo milestone event which may last two or three days, so you may want to plan to stagger progress in the solo event and spread over the two or three tournaments that run over that time.

• Don't waste your guesses

  Pay attention to the sizes of the items that you need to find in the game and only click on locations on the board that the remaining items will actually fit. Some boards, depending on the size of the obect to be found will just require one logical guess in order to pinpoint it's location.

• Use the Checkerboard technique

  If you are unsure where to start with your guesses, one suggestion is to use the checkerboard technique, so you leave a gap of one square between guesses, like a checkerboard. Some items that you need to find however are 1x1 so that technique won't work to find those!

• Things can be rotated

  Remember that the items that you need to find can be rotated horizontally or vertically.

• The moles will help

  The moles are great at helping you save some digs, there is no good way to find them, so just try to get lucky.
