Monopoly Go Battleship Rewards and How to Play

Battleship returns to Monopoly Go for 21 hours from 12 PM ET on December 21st, 2025. In this new fun event compete against other players in a 1v1 battle to sink your opponent's battleships and win rewards.

Earn tickets in this game by hitting ships, sinking ships and winning matches then spend your tickets on any of the rewards that are shown at the top of the screen, just link in other Carnival Game events. You can also refresh the prize list, but that will cost tickets. The more refreshes, the more tickets it will cost.

Rewards usually include game cash, dice, vaults with various rewards, sticker packs and game boosts.

How to Play Battleship in Monopoly Go

When this event is available in Monopoly Go, collect at least ten Carnival Games tokens and then select Carnival Games from the side of your game app, and then Battleship.

Once started, the game will match you with another player and then you have some time to set your ships up on the game board before shots are fired. The game is time limited so you'll be able to get multiple games in quite easily.

When both players have placed their ships, you can both attack, with each player getting five minutes to make up to 25 shots. Simply select a location on the board to fire your shot, if you get a red peg, then you've made a hit earning you some tickets which you can put towards rewards in the event and a white peg will indicate a miss and there is no reward. If you hit a mine, it will cost you two shots, one for the hit and you'll lose another for the mine.

Apart from making hits on ships, other ways to get rewards in Battleship include hitting the treasure bottle, sinking an entire ship and completing the whole game with a victory being decided by who sunk more boats or if you have the same then who has more hits overall on boats.

There are some other fun elements in the game which include a mine which loses you a shot and a treasure bottle for extra rewards.

Battleships is a game of strategy, and while in many cases a victory or loss can be put down to luck, there are some strategic elements that you can think about when it comes to placing your ships and mines and taking your shots.

Tips to position your ships

There are all sorts of ways to place your ships, here are a few suggestions

• Don't cluster ships together - spread them out to avoid easy multi-hits.
• Avoid edges and corners; players often start guessing there.
• Stagger your ships (horizontal and vertical) to break patterns.

However, that being said, it could actually be a good strategy to try clustering your ships together in one small block with your mines placed close. And also to some edges as well. The important thing I think is variety and being strategic about how you place your mines, usually they are good close to ships, however, it could also signal to your opponent if they hit a mine there could be a ship close by.

Tips for firing shots

• Start by firing in a checkerboard pattern to cover more area efficiently.
• Once you hit a ship, target adjacent squares to find its direction. But watch out for mines as they are likely to be placed to close to a ship
• After sinking one, move back to a wide search pattern.
