How to Play Adventure Club Haunted Mansion

When the event starts in your game, you'll see spaces for seven partners as indicated by the slots on the game board. Just like in other parter events, tap the green plus icon to find a partner from your friends list and send them an invite, or to approve an invite that you've received.

You can select up to seven partners to play alongside in this event, if you don't reach seven, then teams will be merged together so that everyone ends up in a team consisting of eight players.

If you manage to complete your team of eight players before the end of the 24 hour team up phase, your team can enter the mansion and start tackling tasks right away and not wait until the end of the team up phase.

How to get more Haunted Mansion tokens

In order to complete tasks in the Haunted Mansion, you have to collect event tokens. You can get these from Quick Wins, the eight hourly shop gift, and also any banner event and tournament that starts after this special event starts for the duration of the special event.

Banner events and tournaments are the best place to get tokens, so do take a look at what events are on right now and coming up next on our daily events schedule to know at which milestones all of the tokens are, to help plan how far you want to play each event to make the most of your available dice.

You can currently grab event tokens for this event via the milestones of the banner event, Ghostly Gatherings.

Also from the tournaments, Fortune Hunt which runs until 1 PM ET on December 16th and finally, the one that starts when that one ends, Cipher Crack.

Tokens are used for actions in the Haunted Mansion so try to get as many as you can to help out your team.

What to do in the Haunted Mansion

After the 24 hours of time to arrange your team elapses, or as soon as you have a team of eight players, the actual fun starts. Starting at the outside of the Haunted Mansion, you and your team have to complete level goals to earn rewards.

Start off by tapping on objects and see what needs to be done.

Haunted Mansion Tasks
Haunted Mansion Tasks

Once you start a task you'll see the milestone bar and options that you can select to use some of your tokens to make progress towards the end goal.

In the first task you have to repair the bridge, so tap the wood on the floor to get started. You'll notice there is a chest over on the right too, you can steal those treasures too, if want to do that, just make sure you do it before the bridge is fixed!

The best option is to have each member of a team participate in each task, because only if you participate do you get the reward for that task.

Once you complete all of the tasks in a room that completes a level on the main milestone list and all team members get that reward. You can find the main milestone list at the bottom of this page.

While there are also chests on each level, it's not really worth going for these as you'll end up using valuable event tokens and only you will get the reward. So, in terms of teamplay, it's better to dedicate your teams resources on fixing the main tasks as opposed to just going after chest steals.

There are many rooms to make your way through in the Haunted Mansion, and for each one there is a similar goal, to complete the tasks and to get you to the next room until the event is completed.

How to complete tasks in Haunted Mansion

When you click on an object that gives you a task, there are one to three different numbered options that you can select from along with the token cost for selecting that option.

Complete tasks

Once you have selected one, two cards are then drawn from your deck and the total of these cards must either match or beat the number shown by adding the two cards together. Power cards can help, as well as the temperature slide, more on those in a moment,

Card Deck
Card Deck

In your deck there are cards numbered 2-10 plus power cards which can assist you in your task. Also there is a temperature slider to help you out whether you are on a losing or winning streak.

If your deck is on fire, which is after you make five wins in a row, then you'll be able to draw an extra card. However if you continually lose, you'll go further down the ice scale, but you'll get 1-4 extra points added to your score of the two drawn cards.

The power cards are drawn like any other card, at random, from your deck and they perform the following functions:

  • Green - Shuffle - Reshuffles your deck
  • Red - On Fire - Sets your deck's temperature to On Fire instantly
  • Blue - Team Boost - The value of your card is multiplied by the number of team members that are at the task
  • Light Blue - Ice Cold - Sets your deck's temperative to Ice Cold instantly

So you can see that drawing the Team Boost card while there are many team members on the same task will be really helpful. Drawing the Ice Cold card is also a big help as the next card you draw will get four points added to it.

Getting your deck on fire will allow you to draw an extra card each try as long as you keep that streak going! Going further along the ice scale by losing tries will push your counter down the cold side of the temperature scale, where you get anywhere from one to four additional points to your card total depending on where you are on the scale.

Also, if you draw two cards that are the same, then you'll get to draw one extra card for that turn.

The key to completing task, winning those chests and working your way through the event milestones is to all contribute as a team. Probably best not to steal chests from other players as that won't help morale too much! And will likely cause other players to steal too, and as already explained, getting these chests can use up too many event tokens, when the real prize is after completing all six event milestones to get the grand prize of a purple sticker pack, a swap pack and the Grumpy Ghost board token.

Obviously like other partner games, if you know who you are teaming up with then you may stand a better chance of completing this event, so do take some time to find the best partners that you can. Remember to check the profiles of anyone that you send an invite out to.

Should you pick a low number or high number to try to beat? I think this depends on a few things. For example if I am an 'on fire' hot streak, then I've been going for the low numbers to try to keep the streak going for longer, the extra card that you get for being on fire is really helpful so you should be able to beat most one star numbers.

If I'm not on a streak, then I tend to go for the higher numbers, like the 17s or 20s, that way I'll likely fail them, but move down ice levels until I get to ice cold with the +4 bonus, and you get that until you beat the number.

Haunted Mansion Level Tips

While the first three levels in the game are pretty straight forward, the first tricky part in this event is at the Pizza Station. Let's take a look at the event up to this point and see what needs to be done.

  • Level 1 - Fix the Bridge

Tap on either of the piles of wood on the floor, and then select one of the numbers. This will be the number that you have to beat when the game draws two cards from your deck. The number of stars on the number that you choose will reflect how many steps along the milestone bar you will achieve if you beat the number.

Once you have completed the two bridges, you should be good to go through the door into the Haunted Mansion and the first of the rooms.

  • Level 2 - Light the candles

Much like the first level, this is pretty straight forward you just have to tap on the objects in the room and complete the tasks. My recommendation is to just complete part of each task, to allow other team members to contribute to completing each of the tasks, this will allow them to get the individual task reward too as it is only given to team members that help to complete a task.

The end of level reward however goes to all team members.

  • Level 3 - Retrieve the books

Now you are in the library and you'll need to find four books in this room to win the end of level reward which is the pink sticker pack.

The books are in different locations in the room, another tip would be to go where your team is so if anyone gets a team boost power card, your presence will add value to that.

Some of the books can't be reached immediately, and you have to complete the other available book tasks first.

  • Level 4 - Feed the ghost 'good pizza'

The pizza station is the first level in this event that things can get a bit tricky as the pizza monster will only accept certain pizzas. There are four pizza stations, and the ghost wants three good pizzas, so you may well end up making four pizzas and one gets rejected.

    Feed the Ghost
    Feed the Ghost

The tasks of completing pizzas have a couple of milestones, and as long as you have helped to get to one of those milestones you'll get that milestone reward within the task.

  • Level 5 - Find the keys

The difficulty level steps up again, by that I mean it'll probably cost you more event tokens to get through all of the tasks to find the two keys needed to complete this level.

Probably still not a good idea to get the treasure at this point and wait to see how your team progresses in the final level which also requires a lot of event tokens.

  • Level 6 - Defeat the Ghost

In this final level there are lots of tasks with long milestones to complete, but if your team is in good shape, and have plenty of event tokens left or there is still plenty of time left in the event, it may be worth opening some treasures chest on this level.

Each one has multiple milestones, but only the player that completes the milestone will receive the reward, that goes for the final reward of each chest too.

In one of the chests on this level there is a purple pack to be won, but it's not east to get especially if you use up a load of event tokens to get to the end then a team mate decides to 'help' you and complete the final couple to win the pack!

One thing to note is to consider carefully what number you want to try to beat based on what cards you think you have left in your deck, if you have a temperature gauge boost active, if there are other players at the same task etc... If you think you can beat a 20 on the next turn, then maybe try that for the three steps it will give you as opposed to wasting a good turn on a low number like a 12.

The main thing is this event though is teamwork, don't take on all the tasks yourself because that will mean that some team members lose the opportunity to grab some easy milestone rewards from the individual tasks.

In summary

This is a really cool additional new special event and a nice way to work together with other players to bring a new dimension to Monopoly Go. While I do love the original format partner events, and these are still in the roster, it is nice to shake things up a bit too with different styles of team events.

Now we've had a chance to play the final version of this event, we know that you could end up losing more dice than you win, so my adivce would be to try to share the load across your whole team, that way you all benefit from the individual task milestones and there is not too much pressure on just a couple of team members.

Avoid the chest steals, they use up too many event tokens and may harm your teams progress to complete the whole event and grab that grand prize.
