.Tycoon Racer often gets a bad rap - but played smartly, it’s one of the most rewarding Monopoly GO! events. With the latest racer event, Campfire Racers starting on November 5th, 2025 and running through to November 9th, this is a great time to recap how to get the best out of racer events on Monopoly Go.
Quick Take
When Tycoon Racers first appeared as a special event, many players - myself included - thought it was nothing more than a dice sink. The rewards didn’t seem good enough to justify spending thousands of dice.
Turns out, I was just playing it wrong. In the recent Tycoon Racer event, Food Truck Racers, our 'average' team managed a strong second place, barely missing out on first. We didn’t burn too many dice overall and picked up enough sticker rewards to make it more than worthwhile.
Here's how I’ve learned to make Tycoon Racers work for both my main and backup accounts.
It's easy to get carried away chasing that first-place championship reward everyone wants. The problem comes when the cost is too high, and you keep pushing just to avoid letting your team down. That's when players end up burning thousands of dice - and why the event gets such a bad reputation.
But the truth is, in Monopoly Go, you have to choose your battles. Sometimes a teammate won't pull their weight. Sometimes your opponents just have too many resources, making a win unrealistic. At times like these, you need to recognize when the opposition is too strong and accept that pushing for first place will cost too much.
Because of these early impressions, many players still avoid Tycoon Racers. But I’m here to say 'don't!'. It can be a great way to earn solid rewards without wrecking your dice stack. With a team that pulls its weight and a couple of strong leaderboard finishes, you can walk away with a good haul of stickers while keeping your dice intact.
Here’s how.
In the leaderboard tournaments leading up to a Tycoon Racer, don’t push too hard. Staying out of the top rankings makes it more likely you’ll be placed in a less competitive leaderboard tournament group once the Racer event begins, this is critical to give you the best opportunity to win back some of the dice you'll be spending in Tycoon Racers.
When the Racer starts, try to join players you’ve worked with before, or at least those you trust to play consistently. Solo rewards simply aren't worth it. Even a weak team is better than going it alone.
The 24-hour team-up phase gives you time to assess. If your group looks strong, you can aim higher. But if you land in a tough bracket, don't waste dice pushing for top spots early on.
Stick to low multipliers such as x5 or x10 to make steady progress. Higher multipliers can drain your dice too quickly if luck turns against you.
Each event offers different boosts and brakes to use. These might include Team Rockets and the Ball and Chain as well as others, and they will let you benefit your own team or hold back the opponents. Often theses come from lap rewards. Knowing what you can use and when you are likely to earn them is useful, and making sure that your full team can take advantage of them can be a real bonus.
In the first 24 hours, I let tournament placement guide my play. I look at the next flag milestone and decide if the reward is worth the dice based on where I’ll likely finish. I also look at how easy it is to jump up the leaderboard rankings, if the top spots are just a little bit away, then it can be worth pushing for a better position even if there are no flag milestones near especially if you can get a blue or purple pack along with more dice.
First Race: I generally aim for third place. The competition is usually hottest here. Let other teams fight for first while you conserve flags. Even finishing second or third overall still earns solid sticker packs.
Second Race: Push for a top placement if the competition isn’t too strong. But if another team is overcommitting, settle for less and save flags. If you didn't push hard in the first race, you should be at an advantage.
Final Race: This is the double-medal race. If you’ve saved flags and played smart, this is where you push hardest for first or second.

Communication makes or breaks Tycoon Racers. Whether through Discord, forums, or even just in-game emojis. Let your teammates know if you have plenty of flags, or have run out, if you want to push for a win or save for the next race.
You should also try to coordinate so that boosts aren't wasted. Team rockets for example can only be granted to each player one at a time. So if you are going to unlock one make sure everyone else can use theirs before another one is then unlocked. More boosts means more points and an easier win.
If you've been skipping Tycoon Racers, you might be leaving rewards on the table. Next time it appears, give it another shot. Lap milestone rewards and good placements in tournament leaderboard events can offset a lot of the dice that you use in this event if you play carefully.
Even if you only secure second or third place, the sticker packs are well worth the effort if your team is balanced and the competition fair.
Always check milestone lists (we publish them on our site) before diving in, and try to land easier tournament groups by avoiding top placements in the tournaments leading up to a Racer.
Above all, don’t get carried away with high multipliers. Stick to x5 or x10, play steadily, and keep your dice stack safe.
