What is Focus?

focus is an ability to slow down time temporarily while aiming, allowing you to make more accurate shots. To use this ability, you have to learn it first by spending a skill point on it in the Ranged skill tree. While aiming with L2, you can press R3 to activate Focus. A blue gauge will appear, indicating the time remaining while Focus is active.

Deacon will automatically stop using focus as you release L2. As long as you have remaining time in your Focus gauge, you can still use it several times until it runs out. Like stamina, your Focus gauge will automatically recover once it is depleted.

You can further permanently increase your focus gauge by using NERO Injectors, found in NERO checkpoints, Research sites, and beacons inside caves. You can also further improve your Focus-related abilities by learning the necessary skills in the Ranged skill tree.
