Its a Rifle Not a Gun

Head to the marked location to trigger the cutscene. For this mission, Copeland will just show you the Basics of hunting. To start off, examine the clue on the ground.

Follow the tracks then use your Survival Vision to see the tracks again, leading up to the next clue. Examine the deer dung along the dirt road.

Continue following the track until the deer you’re tracking is in sight. Talk to Copeland to borrow his rifle. Equip the rifle and aim for the deer. If you have learned the focus skill, you can activate that as well if you want to. Take the shot when you’re ready.

The deer will be critically injured but will still run away. After this, you’ll unlock the Track Quarry skill. Head to the puddle where the deer was drinking earlier then examine the blood on the ground. Use your Survival vision to follow the blood trail until you find the deer. Collect its Meat to complete the mission.
