How to Defeat Bears and Ragers

Bears are tough on their own as they’re fast, have really high HP, and damage resistance while having the capability to knock you down easily and deal heavy damage for each attack. Their infected counterpart, Ragers, are even more dangerous. Try to avoid direct confrontation with them unless you’re loaded or you’re forced to.

Use the high ground and obstacles

If there are obstacles you can vault over or places you can climb, you can use that to prevent the bear/rager from reaching you. Going around obstacles will also prevent the rager or ebar from reaching you immediately.

Burn Them

Similar to dealing with Breakers, Molotovs are effective in stopping charging bears or ragers, while dealing continuous burn damage to them. This will give you a brief window to shoot them, heal, or reposition.

Heavy weaponry

As always, the heavier Weapon you have, the better. High-powered rifles, heavy machine Guns, and explosives can help shredding through this tanky animal’s HP. It’s better to use them as soon as you set fire to the target. Like other enemies, aim for the head to deal more damage.
