This is a very huge excavation sites with Raider wasters and laser auto-turrets. These turrets can be disabled by accessing the terminal in the office to the north. The real area is down in the mines. The door is located at the end of narrow tunnel cut through the rockface to the NE.

Inside the mines, there's a lift you'll encounter along the way. Don't bother with it for now since you still need the key for it. Make sure to look at the ground before moving for any traps. When you first reach the large area, you can trip the circuit breaker to turn off the Power and use the terminal to deactivate the turret in the other side. There's a cooking station and a mattress there as well.

From that wide area, you'll have to either go further down the tunnel or take the metal catwalk. Following the catwalk will Lead you to a Novice jail cell with some items inside. Be careful though since the catwalk has a grenade trap.

Take out the raiders in the next corridor. At the end there's another mattress and a weapon workbench. Continue to the next station and kill the lone raider there. Now you have to continue downstairs. There's a named raider (Bedlam) at the bottom of Station 3's hole.

After clearing it, you can go to the bottom to find an armor workstation, steamer trunk, mattress and another issue of Astoundingly Awesome Tales.

If you want to go deeper, you can remove the chains from the only door and continue exploring. (In this next area, prepare for some jumpscares and have your trusty shotgun/ melee weapon ready) Before going down the first ramp, there's a gas leak there (and several feral ghouls) so you can make noise and shoot anywhere in their direction to trigger an explosion. Go down the ramp and turn to the left to find a footlocker containing 3 Fusion Cores and some apparel.

Turning on the circuit breaker will light up the area but will wake up some hidden ghouls and ambush you from behind. Continue up the ramp and you'll find a door. Opening the door will cause an eerie flashback before the circuit breaker nearby trips off and awakens one ghoul. Re-activate the circuit breaker.

Continue to the next area. Trigger your VATS to take note of the location of “alive” ghouls. Activating the circuit breaker will wake them up. This area has a mattress and a Sneak Bobblehead beside the terminal to the right. In Station 4's terminal, you can eject the Holotape – Dunwich – Tim Shoots so you can play it on your Pip-Boy.

Save your game then continue further in the tunnel. After another brief flashback, more highly radioactive ghouls will attack right in your face. Take them out then loot their bodies. Don't hesitate to use radaways if radiation starts to build up. This is the last area of the tunnel where a deep pool of radiated water lies. You can swim here, just make sure to use a Rad-X to boost your radiation resistance. At the bottom of the pool, there's a cavern where the altar from the flashback is located. There's a couple of mini-nukes there and the unique weapon, Kremvh's Tooth.

Tip: Don't attempt to explore this submerged cavern with a Power armor on or you won't be able to retrieve it anymore.

Backtrack to the location of the circuit breaker where you got the first flashback. There's a ramp beside it leading to a gas-leaked corridor. Blow it up and expect some feral ghouls to attack you. Go up the ramp and turn to the left. Go upstairs then flip the circuit breaker up. If there are any surviving ghouls, they'll surely react and come to you.

Continue up the ramp and clean up any ghouls. Turn the circuit breaker again and take whatever loot you have in that fortified position. Continue upstairs (be careful of a ghoul roamer that will jumpscare you) then you'll be in another narrow corridor. Activate the breaker once again and wait for the ghouls to appear from the end of the corridor.

There's another circuit breaker at the end of the corridor and a staircase going up. Beside the circuit breaker is an explosive box with a grenade bouquet overhead. Make sure to disarm the grenade trap first before opening the explosives crate. There are no enemies here so just go upstairs and loot the Dunwich Borers Key from the dead raider by the red door. Now you can leave the mines and use the lift if ever you want to explore this horror house of a mine again.
