Fusion Cores are the Power Armor's batteries. They'll be drained as long as you use any power armor so make sure to treat them as rare valuables. This page will be updated on the location of fusion cores that you can find in the game. Take note that some ammo boxes might contain multiple fusion cores; these seem to be one-time loot only since if the area "resets" and its loot containers refilled, you'll get random ammo instead.

Mole Rat Den, Red Rocket Truck Stop

First things first! As early as now, you can get a Power Armor (one of the better armors in the game). First, we have to get a Fusion Core necessary to power up the suit. From your starting position in Vault 111, head southeast to reach the town of Sanctuary. From there, continue past the bridge and follow the road to reach the Red Rocket Truck Stop. (Dogmeat is there but you can ignore him for now). There should be a hole on the ground leading to the Mole Rat Den. Ready your weapon and enter it. Once inside, turn to the immediate right and look for the Fusion Core on the ground. Pick it up and leave the den immediately.
