There are scattered turrets in the town, supposedly owned by the Salem Volunteer Militia. This is part of the miscellaneous quest given by the only militia in town named Barney Rook. This NPC is essential to reach his home’s basement (where one issue of Guns and Bullets is located) and upon completion, you’ll get a unique rifle called the Reba II. However, there’s a known bug where either Barney is found dead before giving you the quest or he simply doesn’t exist at all, making Salem a complete ghost town.

There's a mini-nuke on top of the churchtower.

There's a Fat-Man on the second level of a destroyed building west of the church, on the shelf. In the same building, there's a Master safe on the lower floor.
