There's a protectron and a toolbox you can loot. Operate the terminal to extend the satellite's signal. A distress signal will be captured.
Head to the south and you'll find train cars. Look for the blue overturned train car. There should be a barely visible hatch in ground level (roof of the blue train car) behind a bush. Enter it and you'll find the ham radio broadcasting the distress signal. There's a Novice crate there. You can also turn off the ham radio to stop the disturbing looping message.
