Traitor's Bounty

This sidequest can be started once you’re able to enter the Shadow Carja stronghold of Sunfall. You’ll gain access deep inside the territory during the events of the main quest Deep Secrets of the Earth. Upon reaching the throne room, a woman named Vanasha will ask you to meet her in the tent city outside of the stronghold. Head towards the mission marker to start a cutscene and conversation with her.

Next, you have to trace Uthid. You have to start your search from the spot called Three Dead Trees, along the road southeast of Shattered Kiln bandit camp. This is a literal landmark; three dead trees on a rock along the road. Upon reaching the area, use your Focus then highlight the tracks to follow it.

The tracks will end near the rocky hill where you can climb. Once you make it up on top, you’ll Uthid’s abandoned camp. Use your focus to scan the camp then examine the food scraps left. Highlight the tracks again and follow it downhill.

Examine the killed grazer to update the objective. Shortly after, a flock of glinthawks will appear from the horizon. Kill them all first before you can continue your tracking. Once they’re down, loot the carcasses then continue your search.

After passing through the narrow mountain pass, a cutscene will take place as soon as you reach the place where Uthid decided to make his last stand. Talk to him after the scene. After the conversation, the banuk mercenaries will arrive. You have to help Uthid fight them off.

Take cover and start sniping their archers first. The sharpshot bow can give you accurate, lethal headshots. If you can double or triple nock your arrows at this point, you can aim for the body instead. There’s only one path that they can take to reach you so you can place tripwires and traps there in case they manage to cross the ridge. After taking out a few members of the first wave, the second wave with fire arrows will arrrive. Snipe them off as well while minding the ridge passage.

After taking out the Banuks, you can take your time looting their bodies and the other supply crates Uthid prepared. When you’re ready to move on, talk to him to get boosted to the next passage. Gather the nearby consumables first then move to the next area. You’ll have to deal with the Oseram hunters this time. Like before, take out the archers from the top of the cliffs as fast as you can then place traps on the ledges where the oseram can jump down from.

You should also keep a look out for the zipline in the other side of the ridge where enemies can zip down from the nearby cliff. There’s a high chance that they’ll be able get close; if that happens, don’t hesitate to use your blast sling to blow them up instantly. Once your managed to take out the melee fighters, snipe off the remaining enemies and loot their bodies before talking to Uthid.

Talk to Uthid and follow him while looting the resources along the way. Upon reaching the frozen ponds, you’ll have to deal with his bodyguards. One of them has a Firespitter so take him out first so you’ll have the chance to use his heavy weapon against his allies. The melee fighter is aggressive and sturdy so if he gets within melee range, prepare to evade often. The archer uses corrupted arrows that can damage you badly if left alone. Like before, fire weapons and Blast Sling Ammo work well against human enemies.

After killing them, follow Uthid to confront the priest. During the cutscene, Vanasha will arrive. The quest will be completed afterward.
