The entrance of this cauldron has several stalkers with deployed tripmines and watchers. Furthermore, there’s a Behemoth convoy whose path ends near the cauldron’s entrance so if you picked the wrong time of fighting the cauldron guards, you may end up aggro’ing the convoy and have to fight off more enemies than you anticipated instead. After clearing the entrance, find the rock pillar that you can climb then enter the cavern to find the cauldron’s door. Override it open then continue inside.

You’ll end up in a large cavern with several containers. Loot the containers along the way and continue following the mission marker until you find a flooded doorway leading further inside the cauldron.

Jump down and continue further inside to reach the core chamber. While this cauldron is relatively small, the dangers lurking in the entrance and what’s waiting for you inside is good enough consolation. What’s waiting inside is a thunderjaw and two watchers. Like before, taking out the watchers first will be the top priority. Once done, make the proper preparations like placing tripwires or explosive traps. However, if you have a ropecaster capable of firing heavy tie ropes, then you can face the thunderjaw without too much preparations.

When ready, remove the barrier by overriding one of the discharge pylons and immediately tie down the thunderjaw with your ropecaster then use your tearblaster or tearblast arrows to take out its head cannons. This should be your priority since you don’t want it shredding you to pieces without reliable covers in a tight chamber. Next, you can proceed destroying its disc launchers and the armor plating covering its heat core.

Repeatedly tie it down whenever it breaks free so you can have clear shots at your intended targets. Once the ranged weapons are taken out and its heat core exposed, you may now start shooting it with your sharpshot bow. Double or triple-nocked precision arrows should deal tremendous damage against it. If you want, you can also pick up the disc launchers you shot off earlier and use it against it.

After defeating the thunderjaw, the cauldron core will be lifted. Override it to complete the cauldron and unlock another set of new override capabilities, primarily to override the heaviest, meanest, and most dangerous machines you’ll encounter in the wild.
