Pre-Proving Tasks

During the main quest “The Point of the Spear”, you’ll have some sort of freedom before abiding to Rost’s instructions to meet up by the northern gate. I suggest using this time to get used to the game by freely roaming in the Embrace. The machines in this location are weak but will put up a considerable amount of threat at your current level so getting used to the combat system, earning some extra shards (currency in the game) through hunting machines, and experience should be a good start. These are entirely optional and you can do these later if you want.

Return to the Ruins where Aloy fell as a child. With the spear, you can now destroy the stalactites and stalagmites blocking the path to some rooms. Some of these rooms have supply crates that will give you a good amount of resources but the most valuable items you’ll find inside are the following:

• Metal Flower - Go to the first set of stairs in the lower floor and destroy the stone formation blocking the entrance to reach this flower.
• Power Cell - The first of the five that you need to find in order to unlock the best armor in the game. Also starts the side quest “An Ancient Armory”.
