Sun and Shadow

Talk to the named Lahavis staring down the stream in the middle of the small bridge in Brightmarket to learn more about his missing daughter. To start your investigation, you have to head their home’s garden to start the investigation.

Follow the objective marker to their garden and use your focus to find several items of interest. Scan the bottle, spyglass, and shovel then examine them physically individually. Once done, open your Focus again to find the tracks and highlight it.

Follow the tracks until you reach a boathouse near the docks. When you get the objective to investigate the boathouse, scan the wooden beam in the corner and examine the rope tied to it. You now need to swim to the island northwest of the boathouse to investigate it. You have to swim towards and it should be particularly safe.

Upon reaching the island, you’ll find the boat there so head further in the island to find a snapmaw walking around and Elida, the girl you’re looking for, trapped in high ground but safe. Kill the snapmaw to remove the threat then talk to her.

After talking to Elida, you now have to investigate the island. Scan the bedrolls then examine them up close then talk to her again. She’ll then tell you the truth and you can ask her further to update your objective.

Next, you have to find out what happened to Atral, Elida’s “friend”. From the island, head towards the signal fire that’s dangerously close to a shadow carja fort. Swim there and investigate Atral’s campfire. Follow the tracks next which will lead you to the small garrison. The guards will be hostile here so it’s up to you how you want to deal with them. You can aggressively knock on their front door or scale the walls at the back of the fort and snipe them from above. Either way, once you get detected, you’ll be attacked relentlessly so you’ll have no choice but to wipe them out.

After clearing the fort, go to the room where Atral is held captive. After the scene, fast-travel to Brightmarket and talk to Elida in her father’s garden; you’ll also have a flashpoint moment with Elida. Sympathize with her then go get her father standing nearby. This will complete the quest but if you want to know how Lahavis will handle the situation, you can follow him and listen to their conversation.
