The Field of the Fallen

Head to the Red Ridge Pass and when you’re near, you’ll immediately notice that Erend is fighting several Grazers. Help him out and take out all machines. Once done, talk to him to update the quest.

Next, follow Erend as he leads you to the site where ambush took place. After reaching it, use your Focus to investigate. Scan the helmet and the blood on the ground nearby. Examine them up close then activate your Focus again to find the tracks. Follow the path as it leads you to the plateau where you’ll find the Dimmed Bones ruins.

Continue following the cart tracks to the main ruins and a cutscene will take place. You’ll be caught in an ambush by some rogue Oseram. Once the battle starts, several archers will be shooting towards your direction while a handful of fighters will charge towards you. Find cover first, then deal with the melee fighters.

After taking out the first wave of attackers, place some tripwires and traps since two ravagers will arrive. They won’t see you immediately so you still have time to hide and make a surprise attack. Erend will do a good job getting their attention but you still need to do most of the work to kill them.

After taking out the two ravagers, another short cutscene will take place. Loot the bodies and machine carcasses first then use your Focus to examine the battlefield. Look for the wooden tripod in one of the nearby ruins and scan it. Examine it up close then loot the supply crate nearby.

Next, go outside again and investigate the ambush site. There are three items you have to scan; the bloodstains, rocks and vanguard weapons. After examining all items up close, look at the ground to find leather straps. Pick it up then talk to Erend to trigger a cutscene. After the scene, the quest will be complete.
