Start this quest by talking to Yan in Mother’s Rise. He’ll tell you about his sister Nakoa who went after a Carja officer named Zaid that’s responsible for their father’s murder. Yan will tell you to head to Mother’s Crown and look for their aunt, Solai to check if Nakoa passed by.
After reaching Mother’s Crown, find Solai and talk to her. She’ll tell you that Nakoa has gone to Daytower, the Carja border fort. Daytower is also part of the main quest “Seeker at the Gates” so you don’t need rush this side quest until you’re able to pass through the border. (Refer to the Seeker at the Gates walkthrough for details)
When you reach Daytower, you’ll be asked to talk to the outpost commander named Balahn. He’ll tell you that Nakoa did pass through and attacked Zaid, which is also in Daytower at the moment. Zaid claims that it was a case of mistaken identity so he let Nakoa go. You can find Zaid and ask him about Nakoa. Your objective will be updated where you have to look for Nakoa in Lonesome Rock.
Travel to Lonesome Rock then use your Focus to look around the area. Scan the cart then examine it physically to trigger a short conversation with one of the outpost guards. Shortly after, the outpost guards will turn hostile and attack you.
Kill them all then examine the cart once again then highlight the tracks so you can follow the trail. There’s also a supply crate in the outpost so loot that then follow the cart tracks along the dirt road going north.
The tracks will lead you to the unmarked compound with hostiles inside. Kill all the guards in the compound by any means. Once cleared, check the shed in the eastern side of the compound where you’ll find stairs going to the basement. There you’ll find Nakoa and two other captives. Speak to her to free her and the others.
Head outside and you’ll find Zaid and his men. After the scene, you have to kill him and his slaver cohorts. Use your blast sling to deal with the heavily armored guards since the explosion will knock them down while giving you the chance to follow up with attacks.
Zaid has a heavy weapon called Firespitter so use the buildings below as protection against the rapid-firing, fiery projectiles. After defeating the last of his soldiers, Nakoa will have the privilege of finishing off the dying Zaid. Quest complete.
