Death from the Skies

If you follow the main road heading northwest from Free Heap, you’ll find a wounded man named Hakurt. On his dying breath, he’ll ask you to head to Pitchcliff further northwest that is being attacked by a flock of glinthawks.

Upon approaching Pitchcliff, you’ll immediately find it getting attacked by several glinthawks. Come to their aid and help the residents shoot down the machines. After taking them out, head to the village itself and follow the objective marker to find their leader, Ralert.

Their leader is found on the second floor of the house in the middle of the street. You have to climb up to reach him. Talk to him to learn more about what could be possibly luring the glinthawks.

After talking to him, use your Focus and you’ll immediately detect a signal from behind the building you’re on, and a man trying to desperately turn it off. Head to the man’s location and talk to him. Ask him questions about the device and where he got it. Finally, ask him about the workshop’s location and it will be marked in your map.

Head to the Eastern Ridge and find the scrounger’s camp as he described it. Use the campfire and proceed with the perilous climb in the narrow rock passage. Always look at the climbing holds before making the jump to avoid falling. There’s also a supply crate in the ledge that you can loot. Find your way around the ridge and up until you reach the top. Follow the trail and take out the two Longlegs along the way.

After dealing with the Longlegs, continue forth and you’ll find another area with a ice bellowback and a couple of redeye watchers. You can sneak by them but I strongly suggest destroying them as well since you’ll need the safe space later.

Continue forth and you’ll spot a stormbird ahead. You’ll have to fight it so if you cleared the area then you’ll be able to concentrate on the stormbird alone.

After defeating the stormbird, you still have to find the three lures in the next area. Use your Focus to locate them then examine them up close to disable them. You’ll also find the workshop Shahavad was talking about earlier. Use your focus and scan the notes. Examine it to update the quest and register the Tattered Letter as a text datapoint. Finally, fast-travel back to Pitchcliff and report to Ralert to complete the quest.
