Last Updated:
Unlocked on: Part 2: Verdant Wind, (04) Great Tree Moon
Available until: 08/30
Recommended Level: 33
Required unit(s): Claude
Thieves Drops:
* Elixir (SW)

* Rapier (NE)

* Killer Bow (SE)

Post-Battle Rewards:
* Sword of Begalta (Crest of Riegan) Restores HP every turn, effect increased with crest. Claude is the only crest-bearer that can effectively use this weapon.

For this battle, Claude is the critical unit. Similar to the sacred Beast of the lake, you can bring Flayn and Seteth in this battle to get a chance to see their special dialogue with the boss. This desert Map’s Terrain can greatly reduce the movement Range units of non-Mage or non-Flier units. If you look at the map, the gray tiles are the neutral terrain where even Mounted units won’t have movement penalties.

The Wind Caller is the sacred Beast that serves as the boss of this Map. It’s a massive beast with 9 shield grids that you have to break in order to deal Damage to it. Its barrier skill also gives it high Avo bonus against sword, lance, and axe users.

Also, there are five thieves scattered on the NE, SW, and SE corners of the Map, carrying three items. They will be attacked by The Wind Callers’ forces so you have to defeat them first to get their loot. If you can’t make it in time, you have to prioritize defeating the looter on the northeast corner since the Rapier he’s carrying can deal Bonus Damage to Cavalry and armor units.

There are also three Giant Crawler sand worms that have great movement Range in these dunes. Fortunately, their armor can be easily broken. Make sure to do this to obtain Agarthium ores need to Forge and Repair certain special weapons in the game.

Guide Image

Divide your forces into two groups; one heading east while the other heads south. This will allow you to aggro the giant crawlers and defeat them while your units are close together. One of the giant crawlers have your army within its Attack Range so prepare to deal with it as soon as you can. Send Fliers towards the Thief in the northeast corner before the enemies corner him and kill him. You can still try to defeat the other looters yourself but they’ll be foolish enough to attack the Wind Caller themselves.

Guide Image

Continue wiping out the enemy units around the Wind Caller. Gather your units as close as they can, outside the Wind Caller’s Range so you can perform coordinated attacks later on. Once done, surround it and work on chaining your units’ Gambits to break its 9 shields. You’ll also get special dialogues by attacking it using Flayn and/or Seteth. Continue attacking it until you deplete all of its HP gauges and defeat it. Mission complete.
