Your army will be divided into four smaller teams of three, in each corner of the Map. Unfortunately, your Fliers cannot fly past the walls so they’ll be following the same route as your foot soldiers and Cavalry. Before we start the battle, let’s discuss a few things you need to know beforehand so you won’t be taken by surprise in this battle.
First, there are golems in this Map. These are not demonic beasts but they have the same functions and roles in the battle. They have shields that you need to break in order to deal Effective Damage against them. Their Pavise and Aegis barrier Skills are somewhat annoying if they trigger.
Next, there are two smaller rooms in the northwest and southeast corners of the Map, with the main room in the middle where the boss is located. The locked room to the southeast corner controls the two Viskam auto-turrets on both sides of the stairs, outside the main chamber. These automated weapons have long-Range and can deal considerable Damage to random targets within its range. Clear out that room, prioritizing the leader, Pittacus to disable these weapons for the remainder of the battle.
The smaller room to the northeast corner controls the summoning of additional golems to the central-southern gate of the Map. Defeat the leader Bias to completely stop the summoning of new golems in the battlefield.
To open these two doors, you only need to use Door Keys. Each of these rooms have two doors but you only need to open one to reveal its interior and the enemies lurking within. You can equip your units with door keys or defeat the enemies outside the rooms carrying them. Nevertheless, clearing out these rooms as soon as possible is necessary to make things a lot easier.
There are two smaller gates on both sides of the Map that will allow you to reach these control rooms a lot faster and easier. They are locked so make sure to bring in door keys to unlock them. Going through these routes is a lot faster, as shown as yellow lines in the screenshot below.
Make sure to balance the composition of each team. It will be hard to have a dedicated healer for each group, just assign your healers to the team that will be responsible for storming the smaller rooms. After starting the battle, loot the nearby chest in the southeast to get a Bow of Zoltan.
After that, your move team and have them open the designated doors in the middle of the Map. Make sure that they don’t overextend, unless they're capable of handling multiple enemy engagements and survive. Have your western team deal with the golem in the outer wall then proceed to the control room as planned.
Your northeastern team may get intercepted by the golem and enemies there, unless if they take the narrow walkway on the eastern edge of the Map. They don’t need to do this however, especially if they can handle the golem themselves. You can have your SE team to reinforce them but that will delay the capture of the Viskam control room.
After clearing the two control rooms and the enemies, you can now send someone to loot the Sword of Zoltan from the chest to the north. Continue clearing the remaining enemy units then position the units who will open the main chamber and destroy Thales and the remainder of his forces.
Once Thales’s chamber has been opened, he will use a powerful spell that will Damage everyone in your army. If you have the AoE heal Fortify, using it immediately after this devastating spell is recommended.
Enter the chamber and take out the last remaining enemy units. Designate who will get the honor of finishing him off.
Once he’s down, the mission is complete and more cutscenes will trigger. After the scenes, the chapter will be complete.
