Chapter 3: Mutiny in the Mist

This is not a free weekend so you just came back from battle a day before. Instead, there will be a cutscene where you’ll get introduced to Catherine. In this route, she will automatically join your army without any requirements needed.

Mission Assistants are now available. Chosen students won’t earn EXP but their affinity can be increased towards you. Try to choose students from other Houses since you’ll have a lot of chances to go on missions with your chosen house’s students. The Durability of weapons owned by Mission Assistant students are automatically restored after each battle. You can’t change the Skills, Abilities, and equipment of Mission Assistant students. Approach a student from a different house and ask him/her to temporarily join your house during battle missions.

New areas are available in the monastery. Head there manually to unlock them as Fast-travel locations. Once you're done tackling quests and performing the activities of your choice, you can end your free time today and proceed to next week.

Garland Moon: 6/15

This is the first weekend where you’re free to decide what to do. It will be a good idea to base your decision on the global activity though you must consider that your choice will be different especially if you’re replaying a playthrough through New Game+. For now, since there’s no notable events for this weekend, we suggest going to battle.

If you choose to go to battle, you’ll have access to a farmable auxiliary battle. (Battle in the Kingdom). This doesn’t spend a battle Activity Point so you’re free to replay this Map as much as you want. Spend a few battles here to earn a lot of gold and exp for your units. When you’re done farming, spend your battle point to the other auxiliary battle (Battle on the Plateau) to end the day and proceed to the next weekend.

Garland Moon: 6/22

* Fish of Mystery (higher chances of encountering the mystery fish)

If you battled last weekend, then your units will most likely have access to new classes. Have them take the Certification exams to change into their new classes.

If you battled last weekend, you should have a good amount of funds available. Check the Battalion Guild for new Battalions and assign one to each of your other units without battalions. Use this time to get new equipment for them as well.

Garland Moon: 6/29

Events and Announcements:

* Inter-House Reception (enhanced effects to students from all houses)

If you chose to Explore, make sure to do activities that will motivate your students or increase your Skills or your students’ skills. You should be able to Recruit students from other houses at this point, provided that you have met their required Stat values and skill rank.

Garland Moon: 6/30

This is the day of the story mission and your last chance to certify eligible students to new classes before going to battle. Once ready, select the mission and deploy for The Magdred Ambush. You’ll have a short cutscene with Catherine. After that, you’ll be taken to the battle preparation screen.

Battle: The Magdred Ambush

The Magdred Ambush Strategy

This battle will be a bit different from what you encountered so far. The forest is filled with fog which limits what you can see. You can buy a torch and equip them to at least one of your units but that’s entirely optional. Your army will start in the southeast corner of the map as shown below. The boss is located in the northwest corner.

Your units’ movements will be interrupted if there’s an enemy nearby. However, if you have a torch equipped, you can have that unit use the item to illuminate up to 4 spaces around the user.

Keep your army together and move them as a single file westward. Catherine’s group will move on their own. You’ll find the Mage called Gaspard Commander hiding in the woods along the way. Defeat him to trigger a cutscene and to completely clear the fog.

Once you have a complete view of the battlefield, you can now make your way towards the boss. Don’t overextend any of your units and inch your way together. Don’t forget to collect the Spirits of the fallen as well.

Lonato will be staying in the stronghold but has a two-space Attack Range all around him. Gang up on him and attack him from both sides using Linked Attacks or Gambits to defeat him and complete the mission.

After the battle, watch another cutscene and the chapter will end.
