During most Game Modes, helpful items appear frequently and randomly in a match. These items cause various effects to the benefit of the user though some items are known to hurt the user as well. Different items have different modes of activation. Some items needed to be picked up and activated manually (like weapon and throwables) while some items just requires players to "touch" them. This section will discuss the various items you can find in the game to know their effects so you'll be familiar when to use them.

Before a match, you'll have to option to modify what items to appear or not. This can be accessed by pressing the block that says "Time" or "Stock" on the upper right corner of your lower screen. This will bring you to the Rules menu. Select "Item Switch" to view all the active items in the game. From here, you have the option to turn off the items or just select the ones you only want to appear. By default, all items are activated but if you want to spice things up, you can turn most of them off and just activate the ones you prefer.

Though some items are used up instantly when they're used, some has specific charges or durability that allows them to be used a certain number of times before they become unusable. This is true for projectile weapons and melee weapons.

Players are only allowed to carry one item at a time. In case you want to pick up a better item than you currently have, you can use the Grab command to drop the item. Furthermore, if you flick the Circle Pad to any direction, your character will throw the item to the same direction. This is a good distraction or annoyance to your enemies but be warned, the game gives everyone the capability to catch a thrown item by pressing the attack button in the right timing.
