Greninja strikes the enemy with a few jabs. If the opponent is caught in the last hit, Greninja will unleash a flurry of strikes to finish to combo.
Greninja performs a mid-kick with good range and average knockback power.
Greninja swings its tongue-scarf over its head to hit the target on the other side.

Dash Attacks
Greninja abruptly stops and hits the opponent with a strong sweeping low kick that can launch them in the air.
Smash Attacks

Greninja creates two water blades and slashes upward
Greninja creates two water blades while crouching and slashes them sideways
Special Attacks
Greninja throws a fast water shuriken to the target. If charged, this water shuriken will become larger and capable of dealing multiple hits to the target.
Press the directional button to trigger the special move while holding the special button. This will allow you to send Greninja's shadow ahead of him. The spot where the shadow stops is where Greninja will appear and kick the enemy up. This move is quite difficult to spot especially if you're not paying attention to the floor.
Greninja shoots a heavy stream of water that propels him upward. You can control the angle where he launches a bit.
When attacked moments after using this move, Greninja will evade the incoming attack and replace himself with a substitute before teleporting and counterattacking from behind.
Air Attacks
Greninja surrounds itself with a water burst.
Greninja strikes with a water blade in mid-air.
Greninja unleashes a flurry of kicks in mid-air
Greninja performs a spinning kick upward.
Greninja stomps the target from the air.
Final Smash
Secret Ninja Attack
Greninja flips a tatami mat in front of him. If an enemy is standing where the mat is, he/she will be thrown to the sky where Greninja pummels him/her with a series of lightning-fast attacks against the moonlit silhouette.
Recovery
Greninja's best recovery option is Hydro Pump mainly because of its incredible height reach and that you can control the direction of the launch. Shadow Sneak is a little tricky to use since it has very limited distance when used. You need to control the shadow and release the button only when you see your shadow on the platform. Even after using Shadow Sneak, you can follow it up with a Hydro Pump.
Gameplay
Staying true to the warrior it was derived on, Greninja proves itself as one of the fastest (and lightest) characters in the game. Its moveset has an array of good moves, including one that can take enemies by surprise or keep them at bay. Greninja's only projectile-based move, Water Shuriken is very effective in stopping enemies on their tracks since each hit from this weapon can make the targets flinch. A charged Water Shuriken is also a reliable ranged offensive move that can deal multiple hits to a target.
Shadow Sneak is a unique and useful moves. On Normal stages with poor lighting, it will be hard to see the shadow, giving Greninja chances to take them by surprise using this move. Since you can still control Greninja while the shadow is moving, you can have multiple approaches like jumping or charging towards the opponent, only to activate the move and hit the enemy from behind. Substitute is a very good counter since it also protects Greninja from behind. Greninjas smash attacks all have decent range, thanks to the water blades it creates on the fly. Overall, Greninja's attacks aren't spectacular. What it lacks in power is certainly justified by its speed and amazing mobility.
