Gameplay
As one of the lighter characters in the SSB roster, Fox can outmaneuver his opponents with his speed and agility. The setback is that opponents can also launch him easily. His attacks don't hurt that much since he relies mostly on strings of combos to slowly build up damage. Fox's short reach can also pose a problem since he needs to be very close to opponents to land a hit. He'll be in a disadvantage if he goes head to head with characters like Donkey Kong or Zero Suit Samus. Use Fox Illusion to quickly close the distance and can be used to catch opponents off guard because of its lightning speed. Fire Fox is great if the opponent doesn't block your attack. This move will leave you in a brief fall state and the activation animation is very obvious that your opponent can easily read it. His Reflector is a very good defensive move since it reflects enemy projectiles back with increased power and speed. Physical attacks and of course grabs, are still something you need to look out for.
Basic Attacks
Fox will perform a quick one-two jab and a flurry of kicks before kicking the opponent away.
A mid front kick with average range and knockback power.
Fox will do a handstand while using his feet to flip and kick enemies upward.
Fox will crouch and sweep an enemy using his tail.
Dash Attacks
Fox will do a flying kick towards the enemy.
Smash Attacks
Fox will perform a powerful leg drop, capable of launching the enemy far off a distance.
Fox performs a somersault kick upward.
Fox performs a split, capable of hitting enemies on both sides.
Special Attacks
Fox fires fast, damaging beams from his blaster.
A very fast dash that launches enemies in the air.
Fox will be covered in flames and will charge up. When released, he'll blast off the air while flaming. You can control the direction where you'll shoot up.
Fox will deploy an energy shield capable of reflecting projectiles with increased power. The shield can also damage opponents who are standing very close to you.
Air Attacks
Fox will perform a normal flying kick without any momentum.
Fox will perform a multi-hit spinning kick, capable of hitting the opponent up to five times
Fox will deliver a side kick after turning around.
While in mid-air, Fox will perform a somersault kick that will send enemies upwards.
Fox will deliver a spinning dropkick to the ground, similar to a drill.
Final Smash
Fox summons a giant tank called the Landmaster. This large vehicle's main and most powerful attack is it cannon. You can control move it and getting run over or bumped by the tank will also damage our opponents. The tank can lift itself up using its powerful thrusters which will allow you to reach low ledges. This tank excels in form stages since it only have one platform to move on, compared to the obstacle-ridden normal stages.
Recovery
Fox's main recovery move is Fire Fox. This move gives hive great height and it can also be steered slightly to any direction. This will leave him in a fall state; however, due to Fox's size and weight, he seems to fall faster - thus, lesser time being vulnerable.Fire Fox can be pointed at different location while charging.
Fox Illusion is also a great recovery tool since it can cover a lot of distance. This is pretty useful if you're thrown far away from the stage and you need to grab on the ledge immediately. Use this in conjunction with your double jump.
