Gameplay
True to his name, Falco excels in mid-air combat. Though his attacks are patterned closely to Fox, his variation of moves can be put in to good use. His air attacks can be chained together to form a remarkable aerial combo. He seems to be one of the lightest characters since his initial jump height is quite high. The drawback for this characteristic is that he can be easily launched by powerful smash attacks. His power and defense isn't that great but he is capable of dealing small amount but consistent damage. His Falco Phantasm allows him to effectively deal with enemies both in land or air. If an enemy is hit by Falco Phantasm in mid-air, this will cause a meteor effect on the target. This move also doesn't leave Falcon falling, and will still allow him to jump to safety.
His blaster is not that powerful but it is effective in stopping enemy rushes since each shot can make them flinch briefly. Fire Bird does a solid, multi-hit damage if ever you catch an enemy along your trajectory. However since you'll be vulnerable after using it, try using that move for recovery or for launching heavily damaged enemies. Falco's Reflector can push back enemies at the same time reflect projectiles. You can even guard the edge of the stage and use this as a cheap move to keep them from grabbing hold of the ledge.
Basic Attacks
Two quick jabs then Falco will spin before landing the last punch that will send the opponent away.
A solid high kick that can be aimed slightly up and down.
A wide, spinning swipe that hits twice and will send enemies flying upward.
Falco attacks low, using his tail to sweep the enemies' legs.
Dash Attacks
Running high-jump kick that has decent range and knockback power.
Smash Attacks
Falcon performs an overhead chop using both his wings.
Falco performs a somersault kick upward.
Falco performs a split, capable of hitting enemies on both sides.
Special Attacks
Falco fires a laser beam that can briefly flinch targets.
Falco dashes in a blink of an eye, knocking everyone along the path. If this move hits anyone in mid-air, opponents will hurtle down.
Falco will be covered in flames and will charge up. When released, he'll blast off the air while flaming.
Falco generates an energy shield that can be kicked out. It can damage and push back enemies it hits, and reflect projectiles as well.
Air Attacks
Falco will spin in the air with his wings outstretched.
Falco will spin and attack the target with its beak. This move can hit multiple times.
Falco performs a side kick.
Falco performs a spinning drop kick from above, capable of sending enemies hard back on the ground.
Final Smash
Falco summons a giant tank called the Landmaster. This large vehicle's main and most powerful attack is it cannon. You can control move it and getting run over or bumped by the tank will also damage our opponents. The tank can lift itself up using its powerful thrusters which will allow you to reach low ledges. This tank excels in form stages since it only have one platform to move on, compared to the obstacle-ridden normal stages.
Recovery
Falco's main recovery move is the Fire Bird. This move gives hive great height and it can also be steered slightly to any direction. This will leave him in a fall state; however, Falco has this mitigated since he seems to fall faster - thus, lesser time being vulnerable.
Falco Phantasm is also a great recovery tool if you want to cover a lot of distance. This is pretty useful if you're thrown far away from the stage and you need to grab on the ledge immediately.
