Dragon Tear

Rare Enchantment—Brilliant Mark of the Dragon

Otr is the first of the three dragons you’ll encounter in the game. While exploring Veithurgard, you’ll find the main stairs. As soon as you get near the stairs, Otr will continuously fire its powerful breath, which will leave residual energy that can still damage you. There are predictable intervals for each blast so make sure to take cover as you go upstairs. Be careful of draugrs that will appear as well.

Once you’re close enough to the anchor that binds the dragon, Otr will stop using its breath and the favor will automatically start. For this task, you have to find and destroy three shrines to remove the seals of the altar binding Otr. You can destroy these shrines in any order but for convenience, you can follow the order we’ll list below:

Shrine 1

From the main shrine, turn to the northwest to find a ledge. Climb on it and follow it to the clearing where you can find a shadow and a couple of reavers near the shrine. Otr will still be attacking you in the form of delayed lightning strikes so engage the enemies while avoiding the spots where the lightnings strikes are supposed to land. Once done, attack the shrine to destroy it and remove the first seal. Backtrack to the main shrine.

Shrine 2

From the main shrine, head to the large clearing to the northeast. Engage the enemies here while avoiding Otr’s lightning strikes. After defeating all enemies, take the trail to the left and keep running straight ahead to find this shrine. Like before, there are enemies around it so clear the area and destroy the shrine to remove the second seal.

Shrine 3

Accessing the last shrine will require you to open the main ruins’ giant gates first. Once inside, explore the area until you reach a flooded portion of the ruins. There’s a tunnel to the southwest blocked by rubble so throw your axe at the explosive jar to clear it.

Follow the tunnel to the clearing outside and destroy the enemies and the last shrine. After the battle, open the nearby gate that leads back to the ruins’ main gate. Backtrack to Otr’s anchor and interact with it to dispel the binding. The dragon will be freed and the favor will be completed afterward.
