Chapter 12: Escape from Helheim 2

From the dock, lift the pillar blocking the path and board the boat. Start by burning the brambles covering the pile of corpses. These piles will provide the necessary wind to propel the ship. Next, find the gear wheel near the ships’ stern. Operate it to raise the sail and get the ship moving.

Shortly after, the ship will be stuck with an iceberg. Head to the bow of the ship and find the mechanism holding the sails. Interact with it then swing your axe to destroy it to set the sail loose. Next, head back to the gear wheel at the back and operate it to change the sail’s orientation. This will raise the ship and make it float but not after getting stuck again from the nearby structure.

Disembark from the ship and head to the structure. There’s a coffin to the west, near the ledge that contains a Stone of Fire Supremacy.

After looting it, head inside the structure to find a wooden board that you can hit to raise the platform. Don’t step on the platform yet. Once the platform rises, head to the left to find a legendary chest. Loot the Icarus Storm light runic attack from it.

The platform will slowly fall so you have to hit the board from outside again to raise it up. Head back to the structure and wait for the platform to lower. Hop on it then raise the platform again all the way to the top. Freeze it in place then hop out to the next ledge. Turn around and recall your axe for the platform to lower again. Once it stops, hop on the ledge above it to reach the wooden chest to the north.

Finally, find the markings in the corner wall so you can climb down. Once you’re back on the ground, operate the gear wheel to raise the bridge the ship was stuck on. Right after freeing the ship, it will still get stuck on the ledge above it. Furthermore, two revenants will appear. Atreus can still provide long-range fire support so have him shoot these pesky enemies so you can hit them.

Once done, head to the platform again and raise it so you can hop back to the ship. Interact with the ledge to lift the obstacle out of the way. Once free, the ship will go on its way and you’ll be in the Skies of Helheim.

This is not a straightforward journey however. Shortly after, enemies will board the ship and will attempt to put out the pyres. You need to defeat them quickly and re-ignite the flames with your Blades to prevent the ship from crashing.

Keep repeating the process of killing enemies and lighting up the fires as necessary. Later on, an anchor will latch on to the ship and more enemies will board the ship. Make sure to engage and defeat all enemies first. Once clear, interact with the anchor to push it off the ship.

After a short breather, more enemies will arrive. Engage them and prioritize lighting up the fire in case they douse it. Continue doing this until two more anchors latches on to the ship. Push off one of them as soon as you can. Revenants and nightmares will spawn as well so engage and get rid of them so you can remove the other anchor. Once the area’s clear, loot the healthstones and hacksilver pouches dropped by enemies before removing the other anchor to continue.

As the ship continues to sail, you’ll have a brief breather before enemies will start boarding again. The ship will be caught again by a couple anchors. This time, an ogre will board the ship. If you haven’t used your Spartan Rage at this point, activate it now so you can pummel the ogre and mount it. Use it to destroy the other enemies to clear the area faster and easier. Defeat the remaining enemies then loot all the items dropped by them.

Once done, interact with the cracked part of the ship for Kratos to break it completely. Tyr’s temple will be a short distance away. Hel’s visions will appear and show Atreus a piece of his father’s dark past. As the ship hits Tyr’s statue, the duo will jump and fall through the roof of Tyr’s temple.

You’ll find yourself inside the secret chamber of Odin. Before breaking the seal ahead with the chisel, turn around and open the door to find a room with a coffin and a lore scroll on the floor. Have Atreus read the scroll then loot the Eye of the Outer Realm epic enchantment from the coffin. This is a very valuable enchantment so make sure to equip it immediately.

Leave the room and break the seal of the other door. Continue to the next door to find the missing piece of Tyr’s shrine. After the scene, the chapter will be complete and the next one starts immediately.
