Location: Niflheim, deep inside the maze (actual location is randomized)
Hildr’s actual location is one of the dead-end areas in the maze. Since the entire maze is reconstructed whenever you fall back to Ivaldi’s workshop or Sindri’s shop, it will be better to attempt finding her when you have a full equipment set that provides resistance to the cursed fog. This will also allow you to survive the fog longer as you fight her.
Hildr can fire multiple blockable ice projectiles but watch out for the large unblockable piece that she’ll throw after firing the smaller ones.
Another long-range attack is an unblockable wave of air that she’ll release from her scythe.
She can also fly towards you and grab you, dealing considerable damage. This charge is unblockable so make sure to get out of the way.
The best opportunity to counterattack is by parrying her charging scythe attack. If you miss the chance to parry it during the first swing, make sure to keep your shield up since she’ll spin for a second slash following up that attack. Counterattacking with a runic attack right after parrying or blocking this attack will allow you to deal heavy damage to her easily.
Her standard melee combo is quite common among the valkyries; a couple of blockable wing-slashes and an unblockable finisher, in her case, a smashing strike with her mace.
When at critical health, Hildr will start shielding herself with her wings when she starts to get pummeled by your combos. When she does this, quickly back away since she’ll counterattack with a melee-range strike shortly after.
Like other valkyrie fights, you have to fight defensively by watching out for her attacks. Evade the unblockable ones and parry/block the blockable ones then counterattack with runic attacks. Strong attacks are good substitutes in case your runic attacks are in cooldown. Save your Spartan Rage for clutch moments or for finishing her off aggressively. This battle may take a while depending on your damage output so having fog-resistant equipment will also help in prolonging your survival. It won’t help if you’ll succumb to the fog after the battle with the valkyrie.
