Chapter 5: Inside the Mountain 4

After defeating Hraezlyr and getting the shock arrows upgrade, continue inside the cave. There’s a legendary chest to your immediate right, right before the wall where you can climb up. Open the chest to get Tyr’s Revenge light runic attack.

Backtrack to the main path then climb the wooden scaffolding by the rock ledge. Defeat the enemies then turn around and jump across the gap to get a wooden chest. Loot its contents then jump back to the main platform.

Approach the red sap covering the scaffolding on its left side to find a shatter crystal inside. This will free the container with the shatter crystal. Operate the nearby gear wheel to lift the shatter crystal up beside the sap-covered block of stones. Aim for the crystal and detonate it with Atreus to bring down the stone block which you can now use to climb up the ledge.

Before climbing up the ledge, pick up another artifact inside the alcove behind the shatter crystal.

Climb up the ledge and light up the light crystal inside. Reavers and nightmares will appear so take them out. The room to the right has a large recovery crystal that changes colors. Its color upon picking it up will determine whether you’ll recover HP, rage, or runic cooldown. Climb up the ledge to find a sap covered doorway. You’ll need a throwable shatter crystal to destroy it so ignore it for now and continue to the exit where you’ll find several reavers. The shatter crystal pod is located in this same area so take out the reavers first.

After clearing the area, you’ll find another nornir chest as well. Ignore it for now and pick up a shatter crystal. Backtrack to the sap-covered doorway and throw the shatter crystal there. Shoot it with Atreus shock arrows to destroy the obstacle. You’ll find Ymir’s jotnar shrine inside. Interact with it to update your lore and journal.

While inside the room, look up to the right of the shrine to find one of the rune seals. Destroy it with your axe to remove one of the seals of the nornir chest nearby.

Next, backtrack to the shatter crystal pod and take one again. Throw it at the sap covering the drawbridge and detonate it to lower it a bit. Take another shatter crystal again and this time throw it at the sap on the ledge where the bridge is leaning on. This should free the bridge and allow you to continue forth.

Cross the bridge and defeat the enemies that will appear. After the battle, look to the right of the lore marker to find the second rune seal lodged by the stone debris on the wall.

Backtrack to the shatter crystal pod and pick one up. Cross the bridge again and throw it at the sap covering the lore marker. Have Atreus read it to update your journal.

Operate the nearby gearwheel to raise it up the other ledge then freeze the gears beside it to lock it in place. Cross the bridge and open the coffin. A reaver will attack you so defeat it and you’ll obtain a good amount of exp, Hardened Svartalfheim Steel x3, and Inscribed Sign of Menace. Destroy the third rune seal as well to unlock the nornir chest below.

Drop down and open the nornir chest behind. Once done, cross the bridge again and continue forth. Climb up the wooden railings until you reach the door leading outside. Move along the narrow path and defeat the enemies that will arise along the way.

Upon reaching the summit’s stone platform, go to the path to the left then look to your immediate left to find a knight’s corpse with another artifact (Bottoms Up 4/6). At the end of the path, you’ll find a coffin covered with brambles. Just ignore it for now then backtrack.

Climb up the rocks on the right side and continue following the straightforward path until you reach the top. After the cutscene, the journey will be completed and the next one will immediately start.
