Note: This
Hobby is ONLY available to
Adult Sims.
Salsa Dancing
This new
Dance Hobby is unlocked via the special hobby expansion
Mission series '
A Dance to Remember' and is the gateway to unlocking additional hobbies in the dance category.
Salsa
Dancing as a
Hobby is available only to
Adult Sims, and it requires a special accessory known as the Salsa Jukebox that can be purchased from the Hobby Store (
Promotions 'R' Us) for $5,000...
Please note that the Salsa Jukebox is a RESTRICTED OBJECT. You can only have one (1) per town. Period. So you may want to place it in your
Courtesy House rather than in the home of the
Sims doing the
Hobby. Just saying.
Using the Jukebox / Salsa Dancing
As previously demonstrated by the
Mission '
A Dance to Remember' use of the Jukebox requires a specific order of steps. To work on the Salsa
Hobby you need to do the following:
- Place the Jukebox
- Have Sim 'A' use the Jukebox and select 'Wait for Partner' option;
- Have Sim 'B' then select the Jukebox and select one of the two Dance options.
The Dances
There are two
Dance options on the Salsa Jukebox for you to choose from. These are:
- Quick Salsa (1h 30m Task)
- Extended Mambo- (7h 30m Task)

Hobby Prize Path
As is the case with all hobbies completing the
Hobby Collection (trophies) will result in unlocking of prizes. For Salsa the first time you complete the collection you unlock a new
Dance Hobby: Break
Dancing.
For each subsequent time you complete the Trophy Collection you will receive 3
LP as your reward.
The Rewards
As with all of the other
Hobby Collections there are special rewards for completing the collection.
The Latin Villa
Completing all trophies for the Salsa
Dancing Hobby within the limited time allowed results in unlocking the new pre-made house style called the 'Latin Villa..
This is a standard residence (though you might consider it a standard luxury residence to be sure) and so it can be built on the Standard Residence as well as the Premium / Ocean View Residence Lots.
The cost for this very special home is a whopping 125
SP when it is build on a Standard Residence Lot and a staggering 175 SP when it is built on a Premium / Ocean View Residence Lot. So you really have to want this puppy pretty bad to own it!
Break-Dancing Boom Box
Completing the Salsa Trophy Collection a second time rewards you with the Break-
Dancing Boom Box - which is the device that is required for joining and leveling the Break-
Dancing Hobby.
Life Points
Once you have exhausted any special rewards for completing the collection for this
Hobby the prize reverts to a small amount of
LP - which happens to be the best way for obtaining LP pre-
Death. Just saying.
After Dancing I Don' Receive A Trophy Or I Get The Same One I Already Have. Why Is That? Do I Control Which Trophy I Get? The Only Thing I Do Is Select 1 Hour Dance Or 3 HOur Dance. I Get Upset When I Dance For 3 Hours And Don't Receive A Trophy. Im I The Only One That Runs InTo This Proble?
Once I started switching up partners after each dance, I started winning more trophies. I had four sims on level six and switched them up after every dance. This worked a lot quicker for me than when I initially had six sims (same partners) dancing for the first several days without much progress.
How do I complete the quest if the villa has
disappeared
I have bought the Salsa Jukebox after completing the quest but it did not give me the option of where I wanted to put it and now I can't find it at any of the houses or the park. When I go back to the store it says I can only have one per town. Can anyone help?
