Every little girl dreams of being a ballet dancer (and some little boys do it seems) so your Pre-Teen Sims can follow those dreams now at The Community Center, where a Dance studio has been installed on the ground floor to help them follow that dream. And how cool is that?!
At The Community Center your Pre-Teen Sim can select from the following actions:
- Ballet Barre - Stretch: 30s / 9 XP
- Record Player - One Pirouette: 4m / 15 XP
- Record Player - Quick Pirouette: 1h / 150 XP
- Record Player - Pirouettes: 9h / 450 XP
- Record Player - Extensive Pirouettes: 1d / 900 XP
As they Dance they will unlock the following six levels:
1.All Left Feet
2.Novice
3.Intermediate
4.Advanced
5.Expert
6.Professional
Like Karate, Ballet has no collection - but it does include ballet themed decoration items for your darlings room!
As your Pre-Teen Sim gains levels in this Hobby they will unlock special Items that can be purchased to use at home and decorate their home/bedroom with.
Each new level unlocks a new item, including specially decorated doors, a Ballerina Figurine and Lamp, and posters. These Items can be found both in the regular and Children's Store, and the selection includes the following:
Preteen Tab: Record Player (1-Star / 10 LP)
Preteen Tab: Pink Ballerina Lamp (2013-Star / $200)
Preteen Tab: Single Ballerina Poster (2013-Star / $474)
Preteen Tab: Double Ballerina Poster (2013-Star / $500)
Preteen Tab: Ballerina Figurine (2013-Star / $100)
Preteen Tab: Ballet Certificate (2013-Star / $100)
A lot of hard work and effort goes into the mastery of Dancing, but at the other end of that long road is an ability to perform beautifully and in a way that, let's face it, most people never will...
When I originally wrote this section I missed the custom doors and posters, but Thanks to loyal SuperCheats reader and gamer Mariah for letting us know, it is here now!
The Changes to the game including the Introduction of Finite Life Spans does not impact this Hobby as much as others Thanks to it taking place during the preteen life span. Since your Preteen will be focused largely upon School, Ballet makes a nice alternate activity for them to master while doing so.

Whenever a Sim changes their life stage any hobby that requires a specific Life Stage will be removed from their current ability list. So yes, it will be gone.
What if the preteen became a teen? Will the hobby be gone?
