The Big List of Goals: social Goals

Welcome to The Big List of Goals: social Goals -- the section of our guide that is all about the Quests that take you out of town.

Really this can only be a partial list -- because they are constantly adding new Quests to the list of those available, and besides that you would need to focus pretty much all of your attention on questing if you really meant to do them all...

So we consider this to be a work-in-progress and though our intention is to make it as complete a list of Quests and solutions as we can manage, with some luck you will find that the quests here represents The Quests that you have been assigned, and the answers that you seek will unfold before you...

For Quests you got that take place in YOUR Town, you want The Big List of Goals: Town Goals...

Rewards and Structure

Goals for your Home Town tend to be rewarded mostly with XP and Simoleons, with the rare Life Point or two also appearing therein.

Prior to the Introduction of the extended Hobby system the presence of Life Points as part of the rewards scheme here represented an important element, as the increasing number of Objects and Items that require LP motivated players to seriously pursue the Goals scheme in order to obtain them.

At that point in the evolution of the game Life Points were the "rare currency" in the game, so anything you could do that had even the chance of supplying them was worth doing.

Life Points no longer occupy that position - they have been succeeded by social Points now - particularly since players can practically mint their own Life Points via the Ghost Busting Flashmob strategy of play.

Slowly forward to social Points

At first the Quests that pay off in social Points (SP) will be rather rare on the ground -- but once you get past the obligatory tutorial phase of this second and more advanced "new" quests system and then work your way through the basic quests that follow it .

Eventually you will begin to find SP rewards far more frequent -- though not as frequent or as plentiful as you might like... But considering how important social Points are for players who feel the strong desire to possess and add into their Town the Items, Houses, and Objects that can only be acquired through accumulating a large bank of SP.

Just The Goals Ma'am

To be sure that we are all on the same page you should know that the Goal / Quest System largely consists of a well structured collection of logical paths divided into two-part formula; each falling into one of six base categories or types, and these are:

Actions Goals: Send a Sim to work, start a Hobby. and other Sim Actions.

Build Goals: Complete building a Business or Industry.

Buy Goals: Purchase a specific item such as a three star stereo/bed/couch plants, etc.

Collection Goals. Collect the Tax on The Town Map, the Mailbox Reward, etc.

Completion Goals: Complete a Sim action on a certain day or time.

Relationship Goals: Get married, have a baby, make an enemy, that sort of thing.

In addition to the rewards that are declared for completing the assigned Quest / Goal, you will also earn XP / SP / LP / Simoleons in the process of fulfilling the requirements for many of the Quests / Goals.

The List

The Big List of social Goals

The Goals / Quests listed below were obtained via regular Game Play, and represent the goals that were assigned to us while playing the iPad version of the game and the iPhone version.

Since the two versions of the game that we played are both iOS-based and as they both are drawn off of the same engine and data files, it is reasonable to presume that they are virtually identical when it comes to their under-the-skin elements.

Having noted that, and acknowledging that we do not have experience with either the Android or the Kindle versions - based upon posts to the official forums by users of those platforms regarding the areas of Goals and basic Game Play strategy we believe that the information below applies to all versions of the game no matter what platform they are being played upon.

The Goals are listed below by the following structure:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Quest / GOAL NAME (REWARD) OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION

The Solution to the Goal / Quest. followed by any notes that may apply if the listing is effected by Bugs or other issues in the game. Where there are alternate solutions that will be noted, and their details will follow the preferred solution.

Neighbor City Goals

Bearing in mind that the Neighbor City Goals are the primary means by which you will be acquiring SP in the game, because some of the Goals that you will be offered are directly dependent upon the available elements in your Neighbor's Town, it is possible by spending 5 LP to skip a Goal that you cannot complete due to the lack of the required elements.

For example during the writing of this major guide update we were assigned the Goal to Joyride on an Inflatable Toy in a Neighbor's Pool - but none of our Neighbors had that item in their Pool so we had to pay to skip it. Naturally the very next Goal we received was to Joyride on an Inflatable Toy in a Neighbor's Pool at 6 AM!

You may find that saving up LP is necessary if you are going to be obtaining the quantities of SP you will need to do things like building The Nightclub and obtaining some of the more desirable SP based Items from the store.

The social Goals

Be Nice to a Neighbor's Sim (1 SP) Use the Be Nice Action on a Neighbor's Sim.

(Use the Be Nice Action on a Neighbor's Sim to complete this goal)

Be Romantic with a Neighbor's Sim (40 XP) Sims from out of town are always more attractive, don't you think? You should send one of your Sims to flirt with one of your Neighbors'.

(Using the Be Nice Action raise your relationship with a Neighbor's Sim to best Friends, then use the Be Romantic Action)

Be Romantic with a Neighbor's Sim Between 10PM and 6AM (1 SP) It's time for a romantic night time visit to your Neighbor. Even if they're asleep, you should wake them up to show your affection!

(Using the Be Nice Action raise your relationship with a Neighbor's Sim to best Friends, then use the Be Romantic Action between the hours of 10 PM and 6 AM)

Become Friends with a Neighbor's Sim (50 XP) They're getting along famously! Your Sim can also become friends with Neighbors... and even form Relationships! Try it out. Become friends with a Neighbor's Sim.

(Use the Be Nice Action to become Friends with a Neighbor's Sim)

Become the Nemesis of a Neighbor (1 SP) Any good Super-Sim story needs a good Nemesis. Go and make one - preferably far away in a Neighbor's Town.

(Use the Be Rude Action to make an enemy of a Neighbor's Sim)

Bro Hug a Neighbor's Sim (30 XP) Sometimes it's good to remind your Bros from abroad about your Bro... ship? Go and give a Neighbor's Sim a Bro Hug.

(Use the Be Nice Action to raise your relationship to Best Friend to unlock the Bro Hug Action and then use it)

Catch a Fish in a Neighbor's Park (50 XP) Where's your Sim? Gone Fishin'.

(Take your Sim whose Hobby is Fishing to visit a Neighbor's Park and have them fish there)

Chest Bump a Neighbor's Sim (30 XP) What better way to express your friendship with Neighbors than a Chest Bump?

(Build the relationship to Best Friend to unlock this Action then use it to complete the goal)

Collect Treasure from a Neighbor's Dog (40 XP) One of your Neighbors was saying something about their house being built on an old Simlonsian Burial Ground. You should send a Sim to collect some Treasure; maybe they have a Dog that can dig something up...

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and find the house that has the Dog then wait for it to dig a treasure for you!)

Eat Leftovers at a Neighbor's House (50 XP) The fridge is looking a bit lean, and your Sim is craving a snack. Go and eat a Neighbor's Leftovers!

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and eat Leftovers from a fridge in one of their Sim Houses)

Have a Catnap in a Neighbor's Bed (1 SP) Cats like to wander around the Neighborhood. Sometimes they get tired too.

(Have your Sim use the Catnap Action in a Neighbor's Sims bed - Note that this does NOT involve a Cat)

Have a Long Soak in a Neighbor's Bath (1 SP) One of your Neighbors got some fancy new bath salts from the beaches of Simlonesia! You should go and try them out.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and have a Long Soak in a Sim bathtub)

Have a Sim catch a Ghost in a Neighbor's House between 8 PM and 6 AM (1 SP) One of your Neighbors heard something go bump in the night! And who did they call? You!

(Take one of your Sims who has the Ghost Hunting Hobby to a Neighbor's Town and hunt a Ghost in a house there)

Have a Sim Sleep in a Neighbor's House (1 SP) Your Sim saw something crawling on their bed! It looked like it had eight legs. Might be an idea to sleep over at a Neighbor's House tonight.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and have your Sim sleep in a bed in a Sims House there)

Have a Turbo Snack at a Neighbor's House (40 XP) Time to raid the Neighbor's fridge! Make one of your Sims have a Turbo Snack at a Neighbor's House.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and have your Sim Turbo Snack from a fridge in a Sim House there)

Have a Turbo Snack at a Neighbor's House between 10 PM and 6 AM (1 SP) Your Mission, should you choose to accept it, is to perform a night-time raid of your Neighbor's fridge. Good luck, soldier.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and have your Sim Turbo Snack from a fridge in a Sim House there between 10 PM and 6 AM)

Have one of your Sims start dating with your Neighbor's Sims (1 SP) They say the long distance thing can't work, but they never had Sims as really, really, ridiculously good looking as yours. Prove them wrong by Dating a Neighbor's Sim.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and have one of your Sims use Be Nice to Best Friend a Neighbor's Sim, then Be Romantic Action to raise the level to Dating. Note that this will not unlock from the Sim you used to complete the WooHoo Goal since you had to raise the relationship past the Dating Point)

High Five a Neighbor's Sim (30 XP) Isn't it great to have Neighbors? Give them a High Five!

(Raise your relationship with a Neighbor's Sim to Best Friend to unlock the High Five Action, then use it)

Hug a Neighbor's Cat (40 XP) Cats are friendly wherever you go. Send one of your Sims to Hug a Neighbor's Cat.

(Find a Neighbor's Sim who has a Pet Cat and then do the Hug Action with it. Note that if none of your Neighbor's Sims have a pet Cat you cannot complete this - either ask them to get a Cat or skip it by paying LP)

Joyride on an Inflatable Toy in a Neighbor's Pool (1 SP) Your Sims like to be impulsive, right? You should demonstrate to your Neighbors how cool and impulsive your Sims are. GO and Joyride on an inflatable Toy in a Neighbor's Pool

(The Inner-tube does NOT count as an Inflatable Toy - it must be an Inflatable Toy like the Pool Dolphin and you must do the Joyride Action to complete the goal)

Joyride on an Inflatable Toy in a Neighbor's Pool at 6AM (1 SP) Your Sims like to be impulsive, right? You should demonstrate to your Neighbors how cool and impulsive your Sims are. GO and Joyride on an inflatable Toy in a Neighbor's Pool

(The Inner-tube does NOT count as an Inflatable Toy - it must be an Inflatable Toy like the Pool Dolphin and you must do the Joyride Action at 6 AM to complete the goal)

Kick a Bin over at a Neighbor's House (30 XP) Don't you just hate those frustrating days? Kicking a Bin Over is a great way to release tension, but cleaning it up sucks. Why don't you go and Kick one of your Neighbor's Bins Over instead!

(The trash bin is the Trash Can by the Mailbox - simply have your Sim complete the Kick it Over action to complete this goal)

Perform a Warm Up on an Ice Hockey Rink in a Neighbor's Snow Park (50 XP) Gotta practice for those away games too, right?

(To complete this goal send a Sim to your Neighbor's Town that has The Snow Park and tap the Ice Rink to get the Warm Up Action and complete it)

Play a Foosball Tournament at a Neighbor's House (1 SP) Foosball Tournament time! Go and play a Foosball Tournament at a Neighbor's House.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town that has the Foosball Table - which is the third reward for mastery of the Woodworking Hobby - and do the Foosball Tournament Action on it to complete this goal)

Play Frisbee with a Neighbor's Dog (1 SP) They say Dogs are a Sim's best friend. Surely your Neighbor's have Dogs too! Go and find one to play Frisbee with.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town that has unlocked The Pet Shop and bought a Frisbee for their Dog - use the Play Frisbee Action to complete this)

Practice Auctioneering using a Neighbor's Auction Podium (1 SP) It would be funny to sell some of your Neighbors things. Go and pretend to auction some stuff in a Neighbor's Town.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town that has a Sim with the Auction Podium in their home - use the Auction Podium to complete this goal)

Practice Diving in a Neighbor's Pool (50 XP) Time to diversify the diving of your diver Sims. Go and have them dive in a Neighbor's Pool.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town that has a Sim who has fully mastered the Diving Hobby and placed a Diving Board in one of their Home Pools - Note that you CANNOT do this in their Swim Center as you do not have access to that building. It MUST be in a Home Pool)

Practice Soccer in a Neighbor's Town (1 SP) Soccer is a popular sport anywhere in the world! You should show off some of your Sim's Soccer skills to your Neighbors.

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and use the Soccer Ball at one of their Sim Houses to unlock this goal)

Practice Speech in a Neighbor's Mirror (1 SP) Politicians need to be able to make speeches under pressure and in distant locations. Go and Practice Speech in a Neighbor's Town.

(Use a Mirror in a Neighbor's Sim House to Practice Speech to complete this goal)

Put out a Fire in your Neighbor's Oven (50 XP) Your Neighbor got a new Fire Extinguisher and needs some help testing it. Use it to put out a Fire in their Oven -- You might need to set it on fire first!

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and use a Sims Oven to cook one of the Recipes that has the chance to catch on fire - then when it catches on fire, put it out by tapping the Oven and choosing that option)

Quick Practice using a Neighbor's Woodworking Bench (50 XP) Why not work some wood for your Neighbors?

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and use a Woodworking Bench - this CAN be done on the second floor of your Neighbor's Community Center and does NOT require that they have a Sim that has mastered the Hobby or placed the reward bench)

Read a Biography at a Neighbor's House (1 SP) A Neighbor wrote a Biography about one of your Sims! You should send a Sim to read it and confirm its authenticity.

(Simply visit a Neighbor's Town and find a Sim House with a bookshelf - choose the Read Biography Action and you will complete this goal)

Read a Celebrity & Gossip Magazine at a Neighbor's House (50 XP) I wonder what the Celebrity Sims are like in other Towns. Do they use the same shampoo?

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and find a Sim Home that has the Stack of Magazines - select the Celebrity & Gossip Action to complete this goal)

Read a Sci-Fi Book from a Preteen's Bookshelf in a Neighbor's Town (1 SP) One of your Sims has been craving a good Sci-Fi Novel, but they're bored of the ones in your collection. Why not go and see what your Neighbors have got?

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and find a Sim Home with a PreTeen who has the PreTeen Bookshelf in their room - select the Sci-Fi Book Action from it to complete this goal. Note that this action will NOT appear in a regular bookshelf)

Rest Eyes on a Neighbor's Couch (40 XP) Visiting Neighbors is fun, but it's tough work. Rest your Sim's eyes on a Neighbor's Couch.

(Simply visit a Neighbor's Town and do the Rest Eyes Action on a Sim's couch)

Send your Sim back home (1 SP) Now that your Sim has introduced him/her self and toured your Neighbor's facilities, it's time to leave. Press the new 'Go Home' button to take your Sim home.

(This is part of the Neighbor's Town Tutorial - simply send your Sim back home once you are prompted to do so)

Use a Neighbor's BBQ between 6 AM and 10 AM (1 SP) One of your Neighbors has been complaining about not having enough good options for breakfast. Why not surprise them with a nice, big, healthy serve of BREAKFAST RIBS!

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and find a Sim Home with a BBQ and use it to complete this goal)

Use a Neighbor's Coffee Machine to make an Espresso (40 XP) One of your Neighbors has been raving about these new coffee beans they got. There was something to do with them about monkeys. You should send a Sim to go try it!

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and find a Sim Home with a Coffee Machine in it - use it to complete the Espresso Action to complete this goal)

Use a Neighbor's Fire Pole (30 XP) You should show your Neighbors how awesome your Sims are at using Fire Poles. And if they don't have one, tell them to get one!

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and find a Sim Home with a Fire Pole - look for multi-story homes since they are the only ones that will have one - and use the Fire Pole to complete this goal)

Use a Neighbor's Phone to Call Mom (40 XP) Your mother has been complaining that you don't spend enough time traveling the world. Prove her wrong by calling her from a Neighbor's House!

(Visit a Neighbor's Town and use a Sim's Phone in their house to do the Call Mom Action and you complete this goal!)

Use a Neighbor's Toilet (1 SP) Not only can your Sims interact with Sims from other Towns, but they can use their stuff! Get your Sim to use their new friends toilet.

(Simply visit a Neighbor's Town, enter a Sim House there, and use the Toilet)

Visit a Neighbor's Park (1 SP) You can access any location that your Neighbor has built in their town! Have your Sim go and check out their Park!

(Simply visit a Town Park in a Neighbor's Town to complete this goal)

WooHoo with a Neighbor's Sim (1 SP) Some of your Sims have been talking about WooHooing with Sims from abroad. Have one of your Sims WooHoo! With a Neighbor's Sim.

(To complete this goal you will need to use the Be Nice Action to raise your relationship to Best Friend, then the Be Romantic Option to raise it to the point where the WooHoo Action unlocks, then use the WooHoo Action to complete the goal)

If you know your neighbors personally, why don't you ask them to buy the missing objects?
You can also find a bunch of people on this site eager to add new friends, a lot of them have a 'guest house' with all the necessary objects. If you invest in a 'guest house' too you are more likely to attract other players ;)

Does your sim know/have a choice is if you date a neighbor or if they date you? Or is everything seperately? Me and a friend are trying to get our sims to date eachother and move in but hes at a different level in our relationship in his game with my sim then i am on my game with his sim....will our games co-join at some point where we can play together and date at the same time or do our sims have no idea when other neighbors take intrest in us?
