Time Based Events were first introduced in the 2nd Generation of Pokemon, and they have since been featured in every Pokemon Generation since then. These are certain events that occur within a Mainstream Pokemon Game at a certain time of day, such as evolving Eevee into Espeon (during the Daytime with Maximum Happiness) or Umbreon (during the Nighttime with Maximum Happiness).
Unfortunately, Time Based Events do not exist in Pokemon FireRed, making things just as they were back in the original 1st Generation Pokemon Games. Even though they do exist in Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire and Pokemon FireRed was released in the same Generation of Pokemon as them, Time Based Events still don't occur in this Kanto Region Game. This means that products of Time Based Events - like evolving Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon - must be traded for in order to be obtained.
