After obtaining all eight Kanto Gym Badges and making it through Victory Road, you will arrive to Indigo Plateau where the Pokemon League is found. The Pokemon League is comprised of the Elite Four and Kanto Region Champion, five trainers you must defeat consecutively in order to become the next Champion. These trainers are the best of the best found within the Kanto Region, so be prepared for five difficult Pokemon Battles in a row.

The fourth and final Elite Four Member is none other than Lance, the same who specializes in using Dragon Type Pokemon. Dragon Type Pokemon are extremely weak against Ice Type Attacks, and Lance's Pokemon are no exception to this fact. Three out of five of Lance's Pokemon are Dragon Types, making Ice Types the way to go. His other two Pokemon are also part Flying Types, which means Ice Type Attacks either hit them extremely hard or at least on neutral terms. With all of this in mind, it would actually be best to have at least one Ice Type (for Lance's Dragon Types) and one Electric Type (for Lance's Flying Types) on your Pokemon Team in order to defeat Lance.
