How To Catch Deoxys

Even though Pokemon FireRed takes place in the Kanto Region, the Pokemon from the first three Pokemon Generations are coded within the game since it was released during the 3rd Generation. This means that even though most cannot be found naturally in the Wild within Pokemon FireRed, all the Legendary Pokemon from the 2nd Generation and 3rd Generation can be traded for and obtained.

Back when the Nintendo GameBoy Advance was still the main Nintendo Handheld Device, the Pokemon Company actually held an event so players could actually obtain Deoxys, one of the Legendary Pokemon of the Hoenn Region, within Pokemon FireRed. This event was for the AuroraTicket, which would allow players to take the ferry to Birth Island where Deoxys can be found.

Since those Pokemon Events ended a long time ago, the only way to obtain Deoxys these days is by using Cheat Code Device. If playing on an actual Game Boy Advance, you will need either a Action Replay Device or a Codebreaker Device to be inserted into your Game Boy Advance. These will allow you to input a cheat code to either warp to Birth Island or to obtain the AuroraTicket in order to find Deoxys. If you are playing on an online emulator, you simply need to download one that supports these types of codes.

If using a Codebreaker Device (or are playing on an emulator that supports their given codes), you will first need to enter the Master Code "000014DS 000A 10044EC8 0007". After that, you will need to enter the Birth Island Warp Code, which is "82031dbc 3802". After activating both codes, you should be warped to Deoxys simply by reloading your game.

If using an Action Replay Device (or are playing on an emulator that supports their given codes), you will first need to enter and activate the codes "72BC6DFB E9CA5465 A47FB2DC 1AF3CA86" and "8D671FD9 6F6BEFF2 78DA95DF 44018CB4". After that, you will need to enter the AuroraTicket Code, which is "0E12F25C BC489609 141BB87C 83D7018F 7A063220 5D82DF58 641B9F5D 3A0D0482". After activating this final code, you should be able to purchase the AuroraTicket from the clerk in any Poke Mart.

Once at Birth Island, you will need to continue to follow and interact with the roaming triangle until it bursts and Deoxys appears. It will be found at Level 30, and it will know the moves Taunt, Pursuit, Psychic and Superpower in Pokemon FireRed or Knock Off, Spikes, Psychic and Snatch in Pokemon LeafGreen. Even though it will have a variety of attacking moves and is quite strong, Deoxys' low level will make it pretty easy to capture simply by having a full party of Pokemon at higher levels than it. After being captured in Pokemon FireRed, Deoxys will convert to its Attack Form. In Pokemon LeafGrean , Deoxys will convert to its Defense Form.

When looking to catch Deoxys, always save directly before proceeding to battling it. It's never fun when you accidentally defeat Deoxys or if it defeats all of your Pokemon, but all of that is avoidable simply by saving directly before trying to catch it. Also, don't forget to purchase loads of Poke Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls from the Poke Mart before going to catch Deoxys. Ultra Balls are the best possible Poke Balls you can use when trying to catch Deoxys, but Poke Balls and Great Balls can also be used since Deoxys is at such a low level.
