Elite Four

Walkthrough

In order to become the next Kanto Region Champion, you must first defeat the Elite Four. These are the strongest trainers in all of the Kanto Region, and each member, much like the Gym Leaders, specialize in using one type of Pokemon. The first member of the Elite Four is Lorelei, who specializes in using Ice Type Pokemon. Ice Type Pokemon are usually weak against Fire Type and Steel Type Attacks, but since four of her five Pokemon are also part Water Types, Electric Types do great against her.

Elite Four Lorelei: Level 52 Dewgong, Level 51 Cloyster, Level 52 Slowbro, Level 54 Jynx, Level 54 Lapras

The second member of the Elite Four is Bruno, who specializes in using Fighting Type Pokemon. Flying Types have the upper hand against Fighting Type Pokemon, but should you choose to use them against Bruno, watch out for his Onix because its Rock Type Attacks are extremely effective. Psychic Types (for his Fighting Types) and Water Types (for his Ground Types) are the best options against Bruno.

Elite Four Bruno: Level 51 Onix, Level 53 Hitmonchan, Level 53 Hitmonlee, Level 54 Onix, Level 56 Machamp

The third member of the Elite Four is Agatha, an old friend of Professor Oak, who specializes in using Ghost Type Pokemon. However, even though this is true, Psychic Types, which are weak against Ghost Types, are best when facing Agatha. This is because every last one of Agatha's Pokemon are at least part Poison Type, making each of them weak against Psychic Type Attacks.

Elite Four Agatha: Level 54 Gengar, Level 54 Golbat, Level 53 Haunter, Level 56 Arbok, Level 58 Gengar

The fourth and final member of the Elite Four is Lance, who specializes in using Dragon Type Pokemon. Believe it or not, Lance used to the Kanto Region Champion until as of late, now having been relegated to being the final member of the Elite Four. Should you defeat Lance, you'll have to also defeat the trainer who defeated him in order to become the next Champion. Ice Types Attacks work best against Lance since four of his five Pokemon are extremely weak against them.

Elite Four Lance: Level 56 Gayrados, Level 54 Dragonair, Level 54 Dragonair, Level 58 Aerodactyl, Level 60 Dragonite
