What Is The Best Pokemon Team

If you're looking to build the best possible Pokemon Team for both the Main Story and Post Game Story, there is no doubt that you would need to begin by choosing Charmander as your Starter Pokemon. Even though it doesn't really matter what Starter Pokemon you select at this beginning of the game - you can win the game regardless of the Starter Pokemon you choose - Charmander will eventually Evolve into the most Offensive Final Evolution in Charizard.

A good partner to Charizard would be happen to be Gyarados, which can be obtained extremely early in the game since you will have the opportunity to purchase a Magikarp for only $500 on Route 4 (directly before entering Mt. Moon). Magikarp will Evolve into Gyarados at Level 20, giving you an instant Water Type Powerhouse. Sure, it will be a pain slowing training a useless Magikarp, but the reward of a Gyarados even before the second Pokemon Gym is incredible.

From there, a Pokemon like Jolteon will be able to give you additional coverage. It's the strongest and fastest Electric Type Kanto Pokemon (outside of the Legendary Pokemon Zapdos), which will help deal with Water Types and Flying Types. You can obtain an Eevee as a Gift Pokemon in the Celadon City Mansion, which can then be evolved into Jolteon almost instantly by using a Thunder Stone (which can be purchased from the Celadon City Department Store).

To round out this team, the likes of Dragonite, Hitmonlee, and Jynx will give almost maximum coverage against all types. Dragonite is one of the strongest Non Legendary Pokemon in existence, and it can learn incredibly strong attacks like Outrage and Earthquake (among others). Hitmonlee is one of the most powerful Kanto Fighting Types, and you can get one for free simply by defeating all the trainers in the Saffron City Dojo. And Jynx is a top shelf Psychic Type that is quick and hard hitting, easily being obtained by trading a Poliwhirl to the trainer in Cerulean City looking to Trade.

There is little doubt: You can't beat a team comprised of Charizard, Gyarados, Jolteon, Jynx, Hitmonlee, and Dragonite when it comes to a run through Pokemon FireRed!
