This is a special Holiday Event - holiday Events are strictly voluntary on the part of the players but are generally considered worth the effort involved!
The Event begins with a Notice screen that pops up as you log in after the event has gone live. This is followed by a pop-up with the following information contained in it:
Sims FREEPLAY BIRTHDAY
Today is tthe 3 years anniverary of The Sims FreePlay!
We couldn't have done it without you! As a token of our appreciation
we have a small gift for you!
Note: This Event has a 10 Day Timer. You must complete all of its Quests within that 10 days! Save Xmas within the time limit, and get your very own living teddy bear! No batteries needed, just love and hugs!

Quest 1: Splash Face In Sink
Xmas is coming soon, and one of your Sims would like to put up a few decorations. But first, get them to splash their face with some water to wake up. Have a Sim 'Splash Face' in a sink.
Note: This Quest requires an Adult Sim - a Preteen, Teen, or Senior will not have the option of doing it. Using an Adult Sim, have them use any sink and the
Task: Splash Face (3s) 7 XP.
Quest 2: Ask a Sim if they are Okay
Oh dear, one of your Sims took quite a nasty fall! I hope they're ok. Have a Sim ask them!
Task: Are You Okay? (10s) 45 XP.
Quest 3: Bake Some Cookies on a Stove
Your Sim wasn't hurt in the fall. Phew! They are a little hungry though. Have your Sim bake some cookies on a Stove.
Task: Bake Cookies (1m) 15 XP
Quest 4: Read a Recipe Book
The next stage in this Mission is a Quest to Read a Recipe Book. Have one of your Sims hit the Bookshelf in their home and select the appropriate Task:

Quest 5: Carefully Discuss Ways to Avoid an Accident
Ouch! Did that book just zap your Sim?! But that doesn't even make sense!
Your Sims seem to be having trouble maintaining their dignity today. Perhaps they should talk about what's going on with a sympathetic soul. Have a "Careful Discussion" with another Sim... Carefully now!
Have a Sim visit the home of your preferred Sim Cook and have you a half-hour-long conversation about safety!
Task: Careful Discussion (30m) 297 XP.
Quest 6: Read 'Accident Prone' from a Bookshelf
There's no denying it, your Sims are a little accident prone today. Idea! There is an excellent book on the subject with that very title. perhaps it's worth investigating! Have a Sim read 'Accident Prone' from any bookshelf.
Task: Accident Prone (41m) 960 XP.
Quest 7: Call a Sim to the Park
According ot the book, your Sims are currently at level 3 on the accident prone chart, scientifically known as 'The Butter Fingers Level.' Luckily, butter fingers are reversible by enjoying green, quiet areas. Where in Sim Town is green and quiet? The Park! Nothing loud or unusual ever happens there! Send a Sim to the park.
Quest 8: Meditate at the Park Fountain
The lush green grass, the soothing water fountain, the smelly strange looking toilet block. Your Sim knew coming here was a good idea. Tap on the Fountain and choose 'Meditate.'
Task: Meditate (45m) 405 XP
Quest 9: Sit Quietly on a Park Bench
Head to the Park and hang out on a bench!
Sit Quietly on a Park bench (24m) 405 XP.
Quest 10: Rest with the Thinking Man
Your Sim needs to contemplate their accidents with an appropriately thoughtful Sim. They might escalate to the fourth level of the accident rating known as 'Hot Mess' otherwise. The Thinking Man knows a lot about thinking. Rest with the Thinking Man.
When you are ready to do this have your Sim head back to the Park and use the Thinking Man Statue there...

Quest 11: Share Good News on a Phone
Excellent! After contemplating their recent misfortune with the Thinking Man Statue, your Sim thinks they're all better and no longer susceptible to strange accidents. Send your Sim back home, pick up the telephone and tell someone the good news!

Quest 12: Talk to Santa
Oh no! After all that effort to prevent accidents, your Sim STILL has one! These accidents are getting out of control! Who's that in the yard? Is it Santa? He looks uneasy. Talk to Santa to see what he wants.

Congratulations! You won an inflatable Sleigh! Make every Sim think Santa is right there in the garden! Find them in the Outdoor Decorations section of the Home Store!
With the first half down, you can begin the second half!
Quest 1: Talk to Santa
Santa just told your Sim that everyone at Santa's Workshop - the elves, teh reindeer... even Santa himself - are having strange accidents as well. Wow, it's happening at Santa's Workshop too? The accident thing has gone global!
We need to do something! Talk to Santa so the two of you can formulate a plan.

Quest 2: Wave Down the Sleigh with Santa
Santa wants your Sim to come with him as soon as possible to his workshop! But first, you Sims need to wave the sleigh down! Tap on Santa and choose''Wave Down Sleigh.' Santa will even join in.

Quest 3: Place the Sleigh at a House
Great work! The sleigh has seen your Sim and is ready for landing! Place the sleigh somewhere at your Sim's house.
Note: We were not able to complete the Quests for this Event. The game developed an error and it is currently crashing whenever we tap on a location, and is unplayable. We are hoping that the next update fixes that but for now the game is unplayable.
We apologize for any inconvenience this caused you - ordinarily this game is rock-solid and it shouldn't have been a problem.

I really need help on this quest /:HELP!!!!!
Why is nothing else being posted?!?!? I'm at 79% complete for it and watching the movie with the grouch right now. I just wanna know if I'm about where I should be to complete quest on time. Plz let me know any information anyone might have! Thank you

Great Xmas mishap (2014 version) - Part 8
32) Solve the 3rd riddle.
Time = 1 hour & 10 minutes.
Go to Santa's workshop, click on an elf, & tell him "Lighthouse".
33) Tell the elf their name.
Time = 1 minute
Go to Santa's workshop, click on an elf, & "Tell name".
34) Ask the elf for a favor.
Click on the elf & ask him to "Turn the locomotive off".
35) Examine prints.
Time = 4 hours & 30 minutes
Near the bad luck locomotive are some golden footprints (& a blue cloud icon). Click on the golden footprints & "Examine" them. After you're finished examining the golden footprints, you'll unlock "Snow globe".
(Inventory > furniture > decorations = Snow globe).
Day 4
36) Send a sim to the park.
Go to your town's park, use the sim manager to find a sim that's not busy, & click on that sim's whistle to have that sim come to your town's park.
Great Xmas mishap (2014 version) - Part 7
28) Solve the 1st riddle.
Time = 10 seconds
Click on the "Sim Town" button (bottom-middle of screen) to go back to your town. Go to the park, use the sim manager to choose a sim that's not busy, & click on that sim's whistle to make them come to the park. Click on the water fountain (bottom-right corner) & choose the only action that shows up.
29) Tell the elf the answer.
Time = 1 hour & 10 minutes.
Go to Santa's workshop, click on an elf, & tell him "9".
30) Solve the 2nd riddle.
Time = 2 minutes
Click on the "Sim Town" button (bottom-middle of screen) to go back to your town. Go to the park, use the sim manager to choose a sim that's not busy, & click on that sim's whistle to make them come to the park. Click on the thinking man statue & choose the only action that shows up.
31) Tell the elf the answer.
Time = 1 hour & 10 minutes
Go to Santa's workshop, click on an elf, & tell him "Thinking".
DAY 3 starts at the start of PART 6. Sorry about any confusion that caused.
Great Xmas mishap (2014 version) - Part 6
23) Travel to Santa's workshop.
Time = 1 second
Choose a sim, click on Santa's sleigh (it's still in one of your sim's yards), & "Fly to workshop". If a sim is already at Santa's workshop, using the sim manager & clicking on that sim's icon or on Santa's icon works too.
24) Shut the bad luck locomotive off.
Time = 3 seconds
At Santa's workshop, click on the bad luck locomotive, & "Turn off".
25) Encourage elf to turn off machine.
Time = 2 hours & 30 minutes
Click on an elf & "Ask to turn off".
26) Research elf coaxing.
Time = 3 hours & 15 minutes
Click on the "Sim Town" button (bottom-middle of screen) to go back to your town. Go inside a house that has a bookshelf, click on the bookshelf, & read "Elf coaxing".
27) Ask an elf their name.
Time = 1 minute
Go to Santa's workshop, click on an elf, & "Ask name".
Great Xmas mishap (2014 version) - Part 5
19) Search for clues (outside).
Time = 1 minute
Go outside. There's an area between Santa's sleigh & 2 reindeer that has a white "X" on it (& a blue cloud icon too). Click on it & " Search for clues".
20) Encourage reindeer to land.
Time = 5 hours & 10 minutes
Use the sim manager to find a sim that's not busy, & click on that sim's whistle to have that sim come to Santa's workshop so that you have 2 or more sims there. Click on one of the 2 reindeer, & "Encourage" it to land. Choose your other sim & do the same thing to the other reindeer.
21) Search for clues (again).
Time = 1 minute
Go back to the area that has the white "X" & a blue cloud icon & "Search for clues" (again).
22) Examine the strange machine.
Time = 1 hour & 30 minutes
Behind you is a new machine called the "Bad luck locomotive". Click on it & "Examine" it. After you finish examining it, you'll unlock "Xmas candles".
(Inventory > furniture > decorations = Xmas candles).
Great Xmas mishap (2014 version) - Part 4
15) Wave down the sleigh with Santa.
Time = 1 hour & 10 minutes
Click on Santa & "Wave down sleigh". After you're finished doing this, you'll unlock "Inflatable sleigh".
(Inventory > outdoors > outdoor decorations = Inflatable sleigh).
16) Place the sleigh at a house.
Go to any sim's house, go into "Inventory" > BACKPACK > outdoor decorations > Xmas sleigh, & place it in your yard.
17) Travel to Santa's workshop.
Time = 1 second
Click on the sleigh & choose "Fly to workshop".
After you reach Santa's workshop, Santa will temporarily be added to your sim manager. You'll also be able to switch between your town & Santa's workshop whenever you want to. Finally, you'll be able to make more than one sim visit Santa's workshop at the same time (by using the sim manager).
18) Give a pep talk to an elf.
Time = 1 hour & 10 minutes
Go to Santa's workshop, click on an elf, & choose "Pep talk".
Great Xmas mishap (2014 version) - Part 3
9) Meditate at the park fountain.
Time = 45 minutes
Click on the park's water fountain (bottom-right corner), & "Meditate".
10) Sit quietly on a park bench.
Time = 27 minutes
Click on a park bench (not a picnic table), & "Sit quietly".
11) Rest with the thinking man (statue).
Time = 3 hours & 10 minutes
Click on the park's thinking man statue, & "Rest".
12) Share good news on a phone.
Time = 5 seconds
Choose the sim that is at your sim town's park, go inside a house that has a phone (buy or 'borrow' one if you need to), click on the phone, & "Share good news".
13) Talk to Santa.
Time = 5 minutes
Click on Santa & "Talk to Santa".
Day 2
14) Talk to Santa (again).
Time = 5 minutes
Click on Santa & "Talk to Santa" (again).
Great Xmas mishap (2014 version) - Part 2
4) Put out the stove fire.
Time = 2 minutes & 24 seconds
This ain't one of the goals, but let's do it anyway. Click on the burning stove, & "Extinguish" the stove fire.
5) Read recipe book.
Time = 5 seconds
If you don't have a bookshelf, buy one or 'borrow' (read = steal) one from another house & put it somewhere. Then click on the bookshelf, & "Read recipe book".
6) Carefully discuss ways to avoid accidents.
Time = 30 minutes
Choose a sim, click on another sim, & choose "Careful discussion".
7) Read 'Accident prone' from a bookshelf.
Time = 45 minutes
Click on a bookshelf, & read "Accident prone".
8) Call a sim to the park.
Go to your town's park, use the sim manager to find a sim that's not busy, & click on that sim's whistle to have that sim come to your town's park.
(Sim manager = Gray tab in screen's bottom-left corner.)
Great Xmas mishap (2014 version) - Part 1
* Is there a time limit? = Yes, 10 hours & 30 minutes, for 10 days in a row (to unlock the prizes).
* When does it start? = 2014-Dec-14, noon (local time).
* What triggers it? = If you start the game on the above date (or later), the quest (& the timer) will start automatically.
* Prizes (if you finish the quest in time) incomplete list.

Inventory > outdoors > outdoor decorations = Inflatable sleigh
Inventory > furniture > decorations = Xmas candles
Inventory > furniture > decorations = Snow globe

1) Splash face in a sink.
Time = 3 seconds
Click on a sink, & "Splash face".
2) Ask a sim if they are OK.
Time = 10 seconds
Choose a different sim, click on the sim who fell down (because of the splash face action), & ask "Are you OK?".
3) Bake some cookies on a stove.
Time = 1 minute
