Starting 20th February 2016 a new limited time Woodworking Hobby Event will become available called the Urban Furniture Event.
The Woodworking bench is available from the Promotions R Us Store in the hobbies section for 1800 Simoleans.
If you have a few Sims knowcking around doing nothing, now could be a good time to start levelling them up in the Woodworking Hobby skill in preparation for this Event.
Alternatively, there are three woodworking benches in the top floor of the Community Center.
We'll update this page with details as we find them out. Good luck with this new Event.
Update 21 Feb 2016
So we are a day or so into the Event, and it doesn't seem like it will be too bad to complete as long as you get lucky with what your Sims construct while Woodworking.
But I'm not saying it's going to be easy as to unlock everything you are going to have to complete this Quest SEVEN times! Each time you complete a collection of 12 Items, one of the new Urban Furniture Packs become unlocked.
It's best to have 3 or more Sims trying to Event so you stand the best chance of completing it. However, please remember, your Sims can only participate in one Hobby at a time, if they start Woodworking, then they will forget whatever hobby they were participating in before... eg Swimming, or Cooking...
Good luck, and if you are stuck anywhere, feel free to drop us a comment below. We'll continually update this page with more details during the Event.
This event is a sin in the behind. The fact that they removed the 10 minute and 1 hour options makes this impossible. Most of the time I can't check when I'm at work and I need more than five hours of sleep a night and I'm not waking up just to get an item, start anew and go back to sleep, so I maybe get two shots a day at this times my four characters and I get more duplicate items than new. If the 10 minute option or even one hours was still in at least people could get a decent amount of tries in during the evening. So frustrating that they only give 5 hour and 12 hour options now for a six-day timed event where you need to get 84 items. Just like the island event, not enough time to get everything without spending a fortune on to speed up the process which isn't worth it.
Make that pain in the behind....not sure why auto correct did that.
How many Sims did you allocate to woodworking. I only have three, so don't think I will complete the event entirely. We do use LP though as we are writing a guide and need to progress things quickly. Foe people not using LP I guess the best solution would be to allocate a lot more Sims to this hobby.
As you probably know though, they will lose their skills in any previous hobby... Sigh... No easy way to complete this without LP. I think they should have left the 1 hour option to at least give people a fighting chance to complete this... Sleepwear Event next - ho hum!
I have 4 SIMS allocated to it but I don't have many more that I can without killing off all of my senior SIMS (once that legacies quest kicked in, it caused most of my SIMS to age at approximately the same rate and I barely have any adults or kids left). I'm not going to use LP to finish it, I'll just chalk it up to another one they don't allow enough time for, just like the Sleepwear event and the Valentine beach event. Though if the sleepwear event is next, hopefully it picks up where we left off on the last one, I think I only got 2 baby outfits last time and still need 4 more to get me to the full unlock. Not easy when only one SIM can be on your catwalk at one time.
This is going to be hard to do
Hopefully not as hard as the Tropical Island Event!
