Rescue Alvarez

Go to the lighthouse marked to the far southeast of the bayou. The enemies aren’t that many and there are a lot of cover so you can use that to your advantage. Going quiet or loud doesn’t matter since you can easily eliminate the guards here. After clearing the way, head to the lighthouse and open the door to trigger a cutscene.

After the cutscene, three truckloads of Marcano’s men will arrive. Alvarez will be assisting you in shooting Marcano’s men but you have to do most of the killing. Don’t press forward too much; let the enemy come to you and hide behind solid, easily defensible positions. Don’t forget to use grenades and explosives to take out groups of enemies. Blindfire will save you a lot of time, especially when the enemy is laying down covering fire while another one is rushing towards you.

After getting rid of the enemies, enter any of the vehicles (preferably your own vehicle especially if you have upgraded its parts at this point) and escape the place. Marcano’s men will give pursuit and attempt to shoot you down. You don’t have to kill them all; just shoot their tires to disable them and possibly flip their vehicle, killing them. Alvarez will do his share in shooting your pursuers as well. Along the way, there’s a blockade of vehicles. Unless you’re carrying a heavy vehicle, you have to use the incline on both sides of the blockade as ramp to escape the blockade.

Rescue Alvarez

Once done, you have limited time to deliver Alvarez to Father James’ church in the French Ward. After reaching the place, exit the vehicle to trigger a cutscene. The next story mission will be unlocked afterward.
