Valley of Illusive Water

The Valley of Illusive water in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin continues with the giant water bubbles that you have experienced in the previous dungeon. Not only are there water bubbles about, but you’ll also get to experience new environmental obstacles.

There are vortexes scattered throughout this dungeon, and getting sucked in can prove problematic since it will disrupt your movement and location. As you continue your search for Kaimaru, you’ll need to check this expansive entrance, so let’s begin. On this page we shall see the objectives that you'll need to clear, as well as Tips on how to finish them.

Exploration Objectives

Before starting out in this dungeon, it’s highly advised that you craft Jade weapons through Kinta. The Jade weapons have properties that enable you to turn your attacks into the magic attribute which will help in one of your objectives. The other magic weapon available is the broom that you can find in your store house but it’s very weak. Defeating enemies with the Jade weapons will help you in completing that objective.

Your other objectives involve reaching the exit, as well as a challenge where you need to finish it in 120 seconds. This means that your main goal to find here is the Treasure (Mask) that’s quite hidden. Let’s start of at the beginning by jumping across the vortex and reaching the bushes for resources. Instead of jumping down the Vortex, make your way up and reach the top of the cliff by the bush. You can use Swallow Slice upward and then use your Raiment to reach the top.

Now head to the right side, jump across any water bubbles and vortexes since you don’t want to jump down those. You’ll see some bushes along the way as well. You should reach an area at the very right that has a blue spot that you can stand on. Wait for the giant water bubble to come from the right side, and the ride it.

You should find a Vortex between the water bubbles. Jump up and use Swallow Slice to get across it. You should be able to find a box there that contains Health Powder. Once you have that item, you can jump down to the platform below.

If you go to the right side, you’ll find a wall. You can jump to the bottom and you should find a water bubble floating up above. Use Swallow Slice to reach it, then jump from the bubble and use swallow slice once more to reach the platform on the left side. This should have a box that has the Treasure (Mask) which will complete that objective.

The remaining objectives are for you to reach the exit as well as defeating your enemies with your Jade weapon. Your general direction is to follow the water bubbles that lead you to the lower left side of the area, and then you’ll find levels that will let you go down to the lower right. The exit is primarily on the lower right side of the whole area and there can be winding paths. A good indicator if you’re near is if you see a resource spot for fish along the way.

Once you reach an area with lots of flying fish and clams in an open area, you’ll have to defeat them all. You’ll then be able to keep walking to the right side and then reach the exit. From there you’ll find Kaimaru as well as Tauemon. You can watch the cutscene and it should take you Home from there.

The objective for 120 seconds of finding the exit can be completed later on. You can practice the dungeon in order to find the best route you can use. The story will progress since you’ll meet a Kappa, and it will ask for your help since its Home has been disrupted by demons. You’ll then be able to newer areas in the game, as well as getting a new Gathering Area for the Stream.
