With new skills that you have learned so far, there will be instances in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin where you’ll have to fight more boss monsters. In the Bellicose Beast Spring, it’s a very simple dungeon that lets you fight a boss as soon as possible.

Bellicose Beast Spring Entrance

As you head inside the entrance of the Spring, you’ll find some bushes up ahead that you can gather some materials. The Boss monster, Black Shadow, will appear and it’s a giant demon deer. If you go inside this dungeon after only getting your first harvest, then completing the objectives as well as defeating this boss can be challenging.

It would be better for you to go back in this location once you have completed your second harvest. You can also forge a new weapon from Kinta in order to have higher power. Once you have these, you’ll be able to defeat the Black Shadow easier which will finish the first main objective. This Boss tends to run on the left and right, so you’ll need to use your Raiment in order to get close. Its attacks include a head strike that will toss you upward, as well as kick that will do the same if you’re behind it.

Demon Sparrows will come as well and become quite distracting. You can use them however for movement by latching on and swinging across the field using your Raiment. You can also use Frontal Smash in order to knock them towards the boss. Defeat the boss for the first time to clear your first objective. A new Gathering Area in the Forest will be unlocked after defeating the Black Shadow. Since this dungeon is straightforward, you can always come back later in order to complete the other objectives.

Once you are able to gather better weapons as well as gain more stat boosts with your White Rice, you can complete the boss within 30 seconds for your second objective. Your third and fourth objectives will involve night time which can prove to be much stronger, so come back every now and then to check if your weapons and stat boosts are enough to defeat it. Sakuna will grow stronger as each year passes since you’ll be able to complete a harvest cycle. If you’re able to defeat the boss and clear one objective, you’ll be able to unlock the Forest of Supplication.
