Cauldron of Endless Night

The Cauldron of Endless Night in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is a location that will only appear once you have completed the cutscenes that involve Kinta and his sword. This area is the location where the Volcano is, so you’ll realize that all of the dungeons that you have been through recently have one thing in common.

The demons you have fought prior became Specters as well. You will want to find answers to why this has occurred. Now, you’ll need to venture through the volcano once more in order for you to finally get your answers. On this page we shall see the objectives that you'll need to clear, as well as Tips on how to finish them.

Unlock Requirements: Complete Fort of Undying Shadows and then have dinner, watch the cutscene with Kinta after. You’ll be asked to obtain the Soul-Stealing Mask as part of his quests, go to Kinta’s forge as well first and find another cutscene with his sword.

Exploration Objectives

Cauldron of Endless Night -Part 1-

Upon entering the dungeon, you’ll get a familiar view of lava. This time, there will be fumes coming from the ground as well. You’ll have to avoid these as you head to the very right side. You should find a mining spot at the end before you can jump down to the level below.

Be careful on your way down since you can hit the lava. Jump across to the platforms on the right and you should find some Specters along the way, you will want to go to the platform above them by using your Raiment. Once you’re there, you’ll find different diagonal rocks with fumes coming out with rocks falling as obstacles.

Rocks will be falling as well as obstacles, so make your way to the very right until you hit a wall. You should be able to find a box there on the upper platform containing 2 pcs. of Luck Powder. Once you have this, follow the slope below and make your way to the lower left area. There’s another box there that will have 3 pcs. of Reducing Remedy.

Follow the path on the bottom and make your way to the right side. There will be Specters along the way, and you can ignore them if you want. Once you land on the huge rock with flowing magma at the background, you can jump to the upper left side and follow the path until you find yourself in an open area.

There’s going to be waves of Specters on the upper right most side, and you’ll have to clear them all. Once they have been defeated, you can jump to the upper right side and exit into the next area.

Cauldron of Endless Night -Part 2-

A gate will wait for you once you reach part 2, you can use this in order to go Home and restore your energy through dinner. Once you continue from the gate, head down the slope and be greeted by the demons awaiting you. There’s going to be Barrier Stones once again on the different corners which will make them stronger. You can destroy the barrier stones if you wish, and clear the demons. As you continue to the right side, there should be a box that contains 2 pcs. of Health Powder.

Jump to the area below and you’ll find another set of demons and barrier stones so clear them out. There will be two waves that you’ll need to clear. Exit to the right side and make sure to get the box on the upper right platform before you head down. The box will contain Strength Powder.

On the lower right area, you’ll find Specters awaiting you. The Barrier stones this time rotate so they can be trick to take out. Once they are clear, head to the very right and get the Medicinal Base from the box. You will have to descend once more below in order to continue.

Once you reach the bottom, you’ll fight your final wave of demons. The barrier stones here move left and right, so focus on defeating the demons instead. You can exit this area by heading to the left and jumping down the pit.

Cauldron of Endless Night -Depths-

Upon landing, you’ll find another gate that you can use. Rest up if you need, or else continue on. You’ll finally meet the Homusubi Specter once more, and this time you’ll want to take it out for good. Its attack patterns are similar as before, so do your best to keep within reach in order for you to take it out.

It can bring out huge purple flames so you’ll want to watch out for those. Once the Homusubi Specter has been defeated, you’ll be able to complete your objective. The light that has been wandering from the different specters will try to escape, but this time Sakuna will finally catch it.

Continue watching the cutscene, and you’ll find out that this was actually something important to Tama. Sakuna will then have another warm scene with him, so you can go Home now and continue. You’ll be able to watch another cutscene involving Kinta, and you’ll now be able to get some new weapons for your advantage.
