Dragon's Tunnel

Last Updated:
In Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, Princess Sakuna and the Humans have set sail towards the Isle of Demons. Once the island is in sight, Taumeon uses a small boat and ferries everyone towards the island. The first land they’ll end up in is the Dragon’s Tunnel, this will show the beginner dungeon in the game that lets you practice the moves that you have learned from the Mihashira Capital.

The scene begins with Sakuna taking to the rest of the Humans as well as Tama about venturing forward. You’ll learn that Taumeon isn’t actually good at fighting, and the rest of the humans cannot as well. As such, Princess Sakuna will then have to lead everyone forward in order to head to their destination. On this page, we'll be looking at their beginning as they start on the island.

Dungeon Stats

Location Enemy Strength
Rear Exit Day 1+ / Night 9+
Part 2 Day 1+ / Night 9+
Part 1 Day 1+ / Night 10+
Hidden Cove Day 0 / Night 0

Dragon’s Tunnel -Hidden Cove-

The first area that you land on doesn’t have any enemies. Sakuna will have to lead the humans and aim to escape this area and reach the Mountain Pass. When starting out, you’re able to select the Combat Difficulty as well as the Farming Difficulty. Starting with the Default is a good way for you to have a balanced experience.

Game Difficulty can be selected once you begin

If you look to the left side, you’ll find a patch of grass that you can attack in order to get some resources. You’ll have to move forward to the next area by heading to the right side. You’ll notice that the humans won’t follow you along the way, so you’ll be going forward alone and fight your way through the enemy spawns that will come up ahead.

Glimmering objects can be attacked in order to get Resources

Dragon’s Tunnel -Part 1-

In Dragon’s Tunnel part 1, you’ll find some huge boulders up ahead and you’ll be able to gather more resources. Simply look for glimmering bushes and rocks in order to collect them, you can use your light attacks in order to start collecting.

Follow the instructions on the screen

You will also battle enemies ahead and they can drop rabbit meat. Buttons will be displayed as a refresher for your movement and attacks. Follow the refresher instructions on the screen and gather all resources and defeat all enemies you come across. You’ll then be able to go to the next area by following the path to the right side.

Dragon’s Tunnel -Part 2-

More enemies and resources will be available for you up ahead. This time instructions won’t be shown on the screen. Keep going to the right and you can practice your attacks as well as movement using your Raiment.

A door will be sealed, you can go back to this later on in the story

You’ll find a pit that goes below and this will have a door. You won’t be able to open it at this time upon interacting with it, so you can just jump up back to the surface by using your Raiment. You’ll fight more enemies along the way, so defeat them and exit to the right side until you go to the next location.

Dragon’s Tunnel -Rear Exit-

You’re near the end of your path, and you’ll be able to exit to the right side. As you go uphill, you’ll be able to gather more resources along the way. As you reach the end, someone will suddenly attack you.

Take down as much HP as you can to trigger the cutscene

A character called Ashigumo will confront Sakuna. He won’t let you pass through, therefore you’ll have to fight him. An HP Bar will be shown at the bottom indicating he’s a boss. You can use your Raiment to dodge across the screen to avoid attacks, he will also turn purple and perform multiple strikes so watch out. You can continue attacking Ashigumo, but take note that you won’t be able to defeat him since a cutscene will occur.

The earth will shake, and this gets Ashigumo’s attention. He’ll then retreat and exit the tunnel. Tama will indicate that you might be heading on the same direction. Simply exit to the right side, and you’ll now be able to access the world map. From here, you’ll now be able to go to the Mountain Pass which is just south of the Dragon’s Tunnel.
