Noxious Dale

The Noxious Dale in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is a location along the way around the volcano. As the name implies, you’ll be encountering a new hazard where a poisonous gas can cripple your HP as long as you stay in it. Because of this, you’ll want to lessen the damage of poison as much as possible.

Here, you’ll also be encountering enemy specters for the first time. The combination of the gases as well as enemies can slow you down, so you’ll have to watch out for your HP. Noxious Dale Entrance

Your main objective in this dungeon is to reach the exit as soon as you can since you’ll be damaged by your surroundings due to the toxic gas. In order to help alleviate this, you’ll have to explore with a Poison Resistance effect, so how will you be able to get this?

One of the first areas in the Noxious Dale can provide you with a bush resource that can provide Fish Mint. You can head back Home and ask Myrthe to prepare Fish Mint Tea, and this provides you with Poison Resistance. An alternative food that you can eat is Pickled Plum which also works. Once you enter the Noxious Dale with Poison Resistance, you’ll be clearing that objective immediately.

It isn’t necessary for you to kill the Specters, they’ll just get in your way since they are hiding within the noxious gas. Head to the right side and then jump across the noxious gas, you can use Swallow Slice to help with your movement and avoid damage. You should find a box along the way that contains Magic Powder as well as some bush resources for the Fish Mint.

You’ll then reach an area where you’ll have to pass through a cave that’s fully covered in the gas. Go inside and then take a break in the gap in between that has some bushes, you can get more Fish Mint here. Exit to the right side, and remember that you can ignore the Specters.

You’ll pass by two pits that have the gas once more. You can simply jump over them and head to the right until you find a box that has a Medicinal Base. From there, you’ll have to venture into a cavern filled with gas, you’ll want to be quick as possible since your HP will get drained.

Follow the path down, and you should be able to find an opening for air on the right side. Take note that you just need to stand at the very edge here and then wait until your HP fully recovers. One of your objectives is to find a treasure, and it’s hidden on the lower part of the cavern. You can continue to the lower left once your HP is full.

Follow the path to the lower left and you should reach a box that has the Treasure (Mask), this will complete your objective, and it will provide you with the Hoary Mask. There’s also a mining spot on the left side that you can gather from.

Once you have the mask, wait for your HP to fully recover once more. Head back to the noxious gas, and you’ll need to go back to the resting area where you were earlier and jump down from there. You’ll be able to reach the exit on the lower right.

After you have completed this dungeon, you should now be able to go to the next are which is Saddle Path. Poison Resistance is much needed in the Noxious Dale since you might run out of HP before exiting the cavern, so we hope this has helped you.
